I always wondered why they bred that Staff blood into that Irish Jerry Blood to get Nut Nut , I know if you go back Far enough Ruffian is pretty heavy bred on Tudors Black Jack but i always wanted to know why they bred to a staff

 

Looks like the gamble payed off. I wonder how the rest of the litter did? Did His sire produce more of the same?

 

it's simple they were the same dogs back then and it worked . black jack is behide a lot more good dogs that was out there . let see if someone will know who they are .

Thats what I figure is that it was a good cataylist, a mentor mentioned his mentor was a fan of the Xpert line of saffs bred to his stock he aquired from Carver in the seventies...
Those crosses are said to be similar to the blood Earl Tudor put together in his later days, the Dibo blood crossed with the Old Henry dogs which are bred the same or similar to the Xpert and ruffian line as well as the old Tacoma Jack blood from the late Al Brown...
Im my opinon the closer the staff is/was to work or the box, the more lilkley the cross back to the gamedog will be successful...
If any of this is the case, does anyone think breeding an old staff line to a modern gameline might be a good cataylist???
I think if it wasnt done thirty years ago or more, the less likly the overall success would be...
But after a handful of generations of selective breeding it could be done, but like most breeds our bulldogs genetics arent that tight that we need to dip outside a fifty year gene pool...
I have know idea what I am rambling about but its good talk...

I had a gyp who was a half sister to garners Katie. .off of Hensleys ch spook ( a pure Boudreaux dog) bred to Abernathys miss molly. ..game as hell and one of my favorites. ..we game tested her with a daughter of gr.ch.shady bred to outlaw 11 her name was shady red and she wound up winning 2 times.
