There are some really nice ones at Dunkel kennels. They have some over the top beautiful sticks if thats what you are looking for. If not, you could make your own easy enough.

    Heres the link.....http://www.dunkelkennels.com./index2.php

    Isnt Dunkel Kennels In Europe?

Your Best Bet Would Be To Go To A Local Dog Show, There Are Generally Vendors Selling Leads, Break Sticks, Collars Etc. And The Prices Are Good Plus Its Fun Taking Your Dogs Out To Show.

thanks rock yeah im looking for something kind of refined looking so i can carry it with me. i like the knife handle looking ones you could always claim they were for self defense while walking the dog. i wanted to get a couple to keep at the house and at the friends apt incase we have any accidents.

i dont know of any shows in Louisiana and dont have all that much time to spend traveling as my days off are not consecutive.

Now you are going to think that I am absolutely nuts on this one, but here goes.

My kids literally have wooden arsenal because we do historical re-enactment and my oldest is training in sword fighting and fencing.

I have actually used a 22" wooden short sword as a break stick when a neighbors dog and a stray rottie got into a brawl.

They make also wooden daggers and I actually carry a 14" wooden dagger with me when I walk my dogs. Everyone knows we do re-enactment, so no one questions it. I've told cops in Hartford that it's my kid's play sword and they didn't think twice about it.

Try this site - you have to custom order anything shorter than 22" though.

The link I posted to dunkelkennels is from Europe, but you said you wanted a decent looking break stick and those are the nicest looking I've ever seen cosmetically. If you dont care about looks, they are easy enough to find (and also alot cheaper) to buy in America of course, as game_test provided the link to.

there are big convos about how to best use a breaking stick but the short version of it is : your dog has a gap by its back teeth where you can insert the end of the stick btw the gums and turn causing the dog to open its mouth. you have it in your mouth too if your curius its all the way to the back after the mollars cept in dogs you cna get to it from the side. so if dogs biting something you pull lips back insert stick push and turn causing dog to release grip.

yeah im kinda looking for something like dunkels but they want $60 a stick i know how ot make them for less than that.

ne one know of ne in the states that make ornate sticks?
if i make one what kind of wood should i use? dont want it to be too soft or to hard.

I forget what site I was one, but they sold bundles of breaking sticks for like $15. They were just your basic breaking stick though. Nothing fancy. And I'm guessing they weren't the most durable since they came bundles.

Seal, PM me if you want the best breaking sticks money can buy. Fact NOT Brag. You can also check with Crossfire or Lady Rampage about the quality of my sticks. Poly will last forever. There is no equal!

A friend of mine got a nice-looking wood breaking stick at the ADBA Nationals. I got mine at the IWPA Nationals - they aren't pretty, but they are made of cutting-board material, so I have to assume they'll last. (Never used them, since I only have one dog.) Anyway, I've become a firm believer in finding just about anything you need at the shows.
