Working Bulldog Types

so I go back and ask the same question , can anyone show me any photo of a American Bulldog , or any of the names used for them in a magazine pre 1950,,as I really believe they are a modern invented breed from the late 1950s - early 1960s

both dogs the man is holding look like bulldog's none of the dogs in the picture look like bull mastiff the only dog to me that could be a bull mastiff is the dark dog chained to the fence to the far left not the dark dog he is holding.

the photo is shit , but you think the little squat black/brindle dog is the Bull Mastiff ,, why ?

Think that the kennel club would not let his dogs get registered..

Before you ask there is no pictures I’m aware of,of bills dogs lol...
The alano he imported was a fawn dog.but when he bred it to the white pug blooded dogs the offspring was a mix of white and fawn,big and small.
His Alano big headed billy weighed in at 90lbs and stood at twenty two inches to the shoulder.
It’s of spring we’re frowed at by folk of the time.
I’m just thinking because the kennel club would not except them and they were sold over seas.,,perhaps over seas was the America’s?
They were not a breed,they were a cross of pug bulldog and Spanish Alanos that were still used for bull baiting in Spain at that time.
They were big mutt crosses.theres no pictures but I’m guessing they would of looked very similar to the modern day American bulldog.
It’s possibly the only link to there lineage I can come up with mate...(I’m not saying I’m right either.)..its not some pure American breed and it’s not some ancient bull baiting breed either.

All these are bull mastiffs..the brindle dark one is thorny wood terror.i noted garding bull mastiff from the 1920s.

Goes with out saying the am bull is more bull mastiff in size oppose to a show bulldog size.

 

Those are not bull mastiff they are bulldogs

 

You think this smashed muzzle bow legged dog is a bull mastiff. I said that dog could be because it's the only one I can't see good to be honest no dog in the picture looks like a bull mastiff
