York County, SC Animal Rights Activists at work! trying to change the laws again!!!!

    Animal rights activists found a new audience Monday night for a message they've been spreading in York County for years.
    Members of the Committee for Responsible Pet Ownership asked the York County Council - and it's five newest members - to consider enacting a law to prohibit tethering animals and requiring pet owners to obtain licenses for their pets.
    The moves would reduce unwanted pets, curb animal cruelty, lessen the risk of animal attacks and hold pet owners accountable, said Alicia Schwartz, a member of the committee. It also would shift the burden of paying for unwanted pets away from taxpayers in general to pet owners, she argued.
