Young mayday pic?

Discussion in 'APBT History' started by PIt4life, Aug 12, 2006.

  1. I am getting a bit tire of hearing the same "they bite hard because they want to" statement. Fact is that they bite hard because THEY CAN. Think about it, a soft-mouthed dog may WANT to bite hard but it will not because it is naturally a soft-mouth dog. Obviously, a hard-biting dog MUST want to bite.

To say physics plays no role in the bite power of a dog would be folly. That being said, just because a dog has powerful jaws does not mean he has it in him to use them effectively. Ever see a quarterback with a well built upper body who doesn't seem to be able to throw the deep ball as well as one with less muscular build? It's not just about how one is put together physically, it's also body mechanics, and the desire to do something.....

First Mayday is a great lookin dog..big head and all. As far as bite strength goes, the latest information on controlled experiments that attempt to measure bite strength, I believe the GSDs took the prize. I also believe that the Pit Bull CAN and WILL bite hard if so inclined, but no dog HOLDS ON better....and that Ladies and Gents is because they are Pit BUlls!!!!!!
