ive been real busy latley so i havent been on here in a month and a half or so. ive been wanting to get on though. those that do remember me, might remember that i got my mill not to long ago and i had decided to beat the odds and show in the ADBA....regardless of the fact that shes blue. i feel like ive got her about halfway in the shape that i want her. the second photo in my sig was taken yesterday, she hadent ran on the mill in a week and a half because the carpet wore out on it. so she normaly looks a little better.

my question is, how do yall think im doing (pics are before and after) so far?
and do you see any areas that i should try to concentrate on and a specific excercise that i could use to do it?
like i said, shes only about halfway there and ive gotta get in my new belt so i havent worked her so hard in the last two weeks, thanks

Looking better, but still a ways to go. Just because your belt is worn, doesn't mean you need to quit workin my friend! Put on a comfy pair of shoes and hit the backroads ;) With the carpet mill, you can't be working her for the distances you need to, to get that gut fat out, so you should be running/walking her a fair distance naturally as well.If your not, going to have to.

I don't recall how long ago you started, so I can't judge if your 1/2 way there yet or not. As a constructive point, she is about pre-keep level, should be in decent enough condition and pad-toughness to really step it up ;)

This is of course, assuming you wish to hit peak ADBA condition, if your not comfortable going that far, don't. Put her in the best shape you are comfortable taking her to, and thats the best you can do. It sounds to me more like a fun outing and competition, then a serious ADBA show career. That's fine, and it will be beneficial to both you and your dog to continue the hard work.

keep on working that dog bro. you need much more tuck and a fair amount of tone. Keep up what your doing because she is looking better. Means your moving the correct direction.

  4. well IMO the dog is looking much better. as you said you know there is still a ways to go. get that flirt pole out if you got one and if you don't make one soon. that will help develop the defined muscle tone you want in the legs, and shoulders. continue walking/running her as much as she will go. what kind of feed are you using also? cheap food gets cheap results IMO. not saying you're feeding cheap food but something like evo innova or natures variety would do the dog wonders also i'm sure.

on a side note.....you say the carpet is wore out on your mill already????? damn it hasn't been that long since i remember you posting that you got it and showing us the video. shit i was gonna get one of them and now i am wondering whether i should or not. did you put the silicone on the belt as they recommended?

i havent been hittin the back roads because of an injury that im going through. i realize the the mill shouldent be an excuse for me to be lazy....lol....i'd love to get out and do it with her but i cant just yet. where i got her now is just by pure excercise, no diet yet...i wont start the diet untill i plan on making a show. i wish yall could see how much she loves that mill. she likes you to run her till she cant walk, no jog either, full blown running till she cant stand it. at firt i was scared to let her do it in fear that i would make her not like it by pushing her that far. but heres the funny part, if you only run her for a little while(10-15min) and take her off she will just sit there and bark at it untill you put her back on. its damn funny.

also i work her on the spring pole, ive been doing it for a while but i changed it from being on a pole, to me taking the pole out of the ground and moving the setup to where it hangs down from a tree....she seems to like it about twice as much, and she works twice as hard.

i like the fack that the back legs are leaning out and dont appear to be so overdone. and im sure that the stomach will tuck alot more as soon as i cut her diet back a little.....tight now she eats as much as she wants (3-4 cups) per day

any advice, or any flaws that i cant see that i can work on?

i work the spring pole but if you would give me some advice on how to make a flirtpole i would love to start.

i feed innova evo, ive been feeding that for a year or more.

yes i used the silicone spray, but i think i know why it wore out so fast, two reasons, the distance and speed that she runs maybe,....she runs full speed, very fast...ill make another video and post it soon
and second....one day i think i put to much spray and i made it streched to much every since i did that...

  7. ur supposed to use silcone in a tube from like lowes. then spread it with a squeege (sp?) i called and asked them about it once. call and ask when you replace that belt i bet you would get alot more use out of it.

as far as the flirt pole goes i'll be glad to give you some tips. they are very easy to make it takes about 10 bucks at the hardware stored is all.

    ooooohhhh, its in a tube???
i thought it was just a spray, i used some "liquid nail silicone spray"....
ok, i will use the tube next time. and ill get what i need for the flirt pole while im up there.

does anyone know where i coulld get some rawhide squares to use on the poles?

  9. uh lethal pits said he had some. make sure he used meat salt on em when he cured em or you can give your dog salmonila. you can check with stillwater also for hides. he has em cheaper i'm pretty sure. he may be out though. that's where i got mine.

here is a flirt pole pic of bronson. my dogs will chase this thing all day. keep em moving and changing directions all the time. start....stop. left...right. jump...run just works the piss out of em....if you got a dog that will work that is. sounds as though you do.

so, do yall think that shes looking good so far??
im sure that once i cut her food back and start the flirt pole she will end up looking great...do yall think so? yall have more experiance in keeps than i do.

lol....my goal is to one day have yall say "id have that dog in my yard, BLUE OR NOT".....lol

  11. IMO seriously if you're feeding inova evo and you're giving her 4 cups a day....i think that is waaaay too much. others may say different but even normal feeding that is too much. like i said...IMO

if you had some shit kibble that goes through em maybe so, but that is high quality stuff.

did i have the instructions on how to build the flirt pole right?

does anyone else have any advice for me?

  15. my pvc pipe is 3/4 inch i think....just get something around that. same as the rope it doesn't have to be any paticular size just get a decent size as they goal is not to play tug of war with them with this toy. they will catch it sometimes though so it can't be a little one either.

some people just drill a hole and tie the rope at the top. i extend the rope all the way through it and leave about 5 feet hang out the other end. tie a knot and put a washer on the handle side. a big washer and a big knot...lol so it won't ever pull through. now the reason i put the rope through it and leave it like this is when the dog is chasing and is about to catch it you can pull on the knot/washer and it takes it out of their reach immediately. i use the flirpole prbly more than alot of people as i really stay out there and work em with it. run them in figure 8's is good. make em jump some too. mix it up and keep em guessin cuz if you use the same pattern all the time they will figrure you out quick...lol

oh and on the food...nick weighs 53 pounds and gets 2 cups. trust me you won't starve them...lol if she is working that hard you may want to bump it a 1/4 or 1/3 a cup. that will have to be for you to decide. just keep an eye on her and see if she looks like she is leaning out too fast then up it a little.

do you just tie the rope straght to the rawhide? like put a hole in the hide and run the rope through it? and do you think i shoud feed about 2- 2 1/2 cups of kibble a day? it'll save me some money to cut her back a little

edit: ok, she weighs 57 right now in the newer pic so ill cut her down to the same as you.....
thanks alot for all your help

  17. i drill a few holes in it and snake the rope back and forth through it. tie a knot after every hole so it don't bunch up when they grab it.

i edited my last post about the feed....u replied while i was doing it...lol

i would go with 2 cups myself but that is just my opinion. if she looks like she's getting too lean too fast you can up it 1/4 cup or 1/3 cup.
