Nail clipping

My dog hates her nails getting clipped.She gives me a TON of grief about it.Any suggestions would be great!!!THX IN ADVANCE

 

I get my daughter to jump on mine while they are sleeping and I snip as many as I can before they know whats going on

 

i take mine to the vet now. she wouldn't stay still for me. so i took her to the local petshop, and told them to put a muzzle on her just in case..that was the only time i've had to physically hold down my dog cause i thought she was gonna attack the chick. so the vet is the next step.

 

if you cannot get your dog's nail trim, always walk him on road or aspalt. Make him pull. This is just a trick that works.

 

i agree with longhorn... I only clip my dogs nail's maybe every 8 months or so because of all the walking we do here in town on sidewalk's or paved roads

 

China loves to have hers done. She thinks it's extra attention. Tinker is another story We have to put her in a body hold and do it.

 

Sneak up on them when their sleeping, and hold on! Or putting them in a corner and sitting on them works too, and if none of the above work....a fingerful of peanut butter will keep them distracted.

 

I turned it into a game for Birdie so she will let me clip, file and paint hers now. (YES! I paint my pitbulls nails - for some reason, people think a pitbull with pretty pink toenails can't possibly be a vicious dog. And THAT is a direct quote!)

Petey on the other hand is a nightmare and a half to do. I have to feed him liver and clip one nail ever couple hours to do four of his nails. The other six require muzzling and wrapping him up like a doggie burrito with a paw sticking out, me holding the paw, my husband laying on the dog and my oldest daughter operating the clipper.

He has always hated having his nails clipped and nothing we've tried except sedating him completely works. He has three nails that won't wear down with daily 1.5 mile walks on the pavement!

Lmao i thought i was the only one who painted my dogs nails. We got married in Feb and she had pink toe nails for the wedding pics lol. Mine are really good about getting theirs clipped, we have been doing it since they were real little so they are used to it now.
