How many owners here actually pick up after their dogs? meaning how often? 100%, 75%, etc.

 

100 % of the time....I even pick up my yard weekly...I clean up at parks, PetSmart, my home, etc.

 

It depends on where; if it's in an area that the grass is taken care of, watered, mowed, etc, or a public park trail then I always pick up. If it's in a field or the woods then I let nature take its course. Since we feed raw, it decomposes pretty quick.

 

I try to get out and pick it up every weekend. They tend to all poop in the same spot so its pretty easy to get it all up. Except for Ozzy, he craps on the sidewalk.

 

i pick up in the yard 3times a week, with 3 dogs i have to. when out walking even if in the woods i pick it up.

 

I have too many dogs to not do it daily. I have a compost pile for my garden so it goes in a chain cycle. Chicken coops every day. etc. If I were to let it go. I would be overwelmed with work.

 

If i am walking my dog and he/she craps in a persons yard i dont pick it up at all.

 

Lol. ya leave them something to bitch about. I like the Ozzie dog that craps on the side walk. lol If you leave it on the sidewalk people will walk on the other side of the road and not be such pests. Good show that is funny. Do you give the dog a treat for crapping in someone elses lawn. I would.

 

I pick it up every day in my yard, just keeps things easier and my landlord happier (they can see our yard from their house). Unless its in the woods off of a trail, I always pick it up outside too. I also feed raw and their poop turns to mush within a week or 2.

 

I pick it up as soon as they do it because they are inside dogs that are only out in the yard when I am so, it is easier that way for me, and I also pick it up on walks. I just hate the smell and have an overly sensative nose I guess, plus don't want to step in it when I play with the dogs or have it attract bugs! I hate bugs

 

In my own yard-I dont. Makes the grass grow

The rare occasion my dogs are in public and one takes a duece on someones lawn, I always pick it up.

 

i clean my yard daily,they rarely go out into public and when they do i usually just take one in the back of my truck but sometimes i take a extra with me in the front seat.i dont take em for walks anymore because i just cant walk that far anymore,so they use the treadmill or i play with them in the excersise area i have for them.but when i used to be able to take em for walks if they emptied out anywhere that was owned or used by someone else i always picked it up,i figure it is just decent manners on my part.

 

I'm with Patch O pits. I am always outside with my dogs so I usually pick it up when they go. It is easier that way so no one steps in it when they are playing in the backyard. And on walks I always pick it up...I don't want another dog crapping in my yard so I pick up after my dogs.

 

We pick ours up when we are going for a walk, but other than that we never do because my dogs are fussy and olny go in the woods by our house lol. I think they are shy about it! The older female wont even go number two if i take her out, only for my hubby

 

LOL im with u, i figure its just a little extra fertilizer so if u think about it im doing them a favor LOL

 

I think alot of people are lying about this thing. If yall are walking your dog and he/she takes a crap your going to pick it up and keep it with you the until you get home. Hell no not me.

 

I have my poop bag holder attached to the end of my leash. If she poops on walks... I'll pick it up. In the backyard...we just use the lawnmower. lol

 

I pickup when we're walking or jogging in my area. I don't pickup when we're hiking or on a desolate trail and they crap in a bush off to the side. If it is in the trail I pick it up and toss it off the beaten path. I'm not carrying crap for 18-20 miles of hiking. LOL!

I will proudly carry a bag of dog crap around with me. It shows a responsible dog owner, and with this breed anything that shows a good owner is good. I am a young girl and often wear baggy clothes and I get dirty enough looks just walking a pit bull, I don't need anybody scowering at the 'thug' whos not cleaning up their dogs mess. I try my best to create as much of a positive image with my dog as possible, and cleaning her mess is part of it. If by chance I have forgotten to bring a bag and if theres someone outside, I have no problem asking a stranger if they have a bag.

 

We have a HUGE yard, and I don't bother picking all the crap up. It all gets chopped up when my BF mows the grass. We have a riding mower, so the blades are big enought to handle even the big turds. I think of it as fertilizer. When I had a smaller yard, I only had one dog, so I guess I did it about once a week before the grass was cut. Lucy had a fairly large "designated pooping area", so once a week was plenty. I've never had one of my dogs poop on a walk, but if I did, I probably wouldn't pick it up. I don't carry doo-doo bags around with me on a regular basis (read: ever). Plenty of other people's dogs have crapped in my yard.
