SO a guy I used to work with calls me tonight and asks me what i know about the bloodlines Watchdog and budweiser crusher.. (the last one sounds fake to me,) but what do I know? I tell him I don't know anything about bloodlines or anything like that, and I ask him why he went out and bought a pup before he checked into it? He grumbles something about a good price pretty dog.. etc etc..

So I come to you good people to give me some sort of info to take back to him, other than the fact he's a moron and should check into things before he starts shelling out cash. Watch dog on top.. budwesier crusher on bottom I believe is how he said the paperwork read.. I don't have a ped or anything from him. So just whatever you know about the lines.. knowing him they are probably hippos.

Budweiser was NC first sho CH dog. He also won 1 in the box. Alot of people have the blood in NC because it so popular i guess you could say but the people i see have it is nothing but Back yard breeders.

I just don't under stand why someone gets the urge to breed oversized mutts. Why do that? Hell if you want a bull mastiff to pull with get one and Pull UPF or something that the breed doesn't matter. And if you want a APBT get one that is of standard and use it. It is simple really. It just don't seem to have much logic behind it to me. There are standards for a reason.

people are too stuck on the BIGGER IS BETTER, MORE IS BETTER thing, especially us in the USA :(

    Supersize this supersize that..

sorta sad really ...i find it all sickening what people are trying to turn these dogs into...

Thankfully we have a good handful of people who breed for the right reasons and try to stay true to the standards.

I am thankful for those of us that do. It is a very wasteful time we live in. Buy use and trough away. And yes the super size deal. Very perseptive of you. You're a good kid. You can visit any time.

I get kinda depressed when I see those Whopper and Dagger dogs at pulls. I respect their accomplishments, but I don't see the point of breeding them to be like that and suggesting they're still Pit Bulls. Let me try and win with my standard dog. If she's not good enough to do it, we'll work harder, but I wont breed bigger just to be able to compete for those damn MWP trophies. (Maybe, with work, we'll get an MWPP someday though.)

Watchdog lines were started back around the 1990s by Casey Courtier when he moved to CA. They were big blue dogs that came along at the beginning of the "blue fad".

The Watchdog line is also known to have quite a few health problems, such as hip dysplasia, heart problems, and cancer. Hopefully the cross with the Budweiser Crusher dog will lessen the chances of those health troubles.

Actually the WD line was around long before the 1990s. It just became popular then. But it was around before then. It started as a conformation correct UKC line, but Casey switched over to the ADBA b/c the UKC frowned on his game testing his dogs. Casey ended up getting out of the dogs in the late 90s. He then moved to Cali & got into AmBulldogs. After he got out other breeders got his line & began turning it into a defect-riddled bluff line. :(

Yes, you're right... I was never interested in the Watchdog line so I did not follow it back then. I was remembering the dates wrong, I did not go downstairs and dig around in my old magazines and such. I remember when the line started and it did change but not for the better. Courtier also put out some bulldog magazines back then too, some of which were a pretty decent read.

But like you said, the current Watchdog line is riddled with health problems and overbred to be big blue dogs.
