I won't post negative articles on this site, but this is what I read in a recent alleged attack case:

So now pit bulls are mastiffs?

lol... The article really said that??? The dog I bet was a bull mastiff, and the reporter guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Did you hear about a dog attack, somewhere up north, somebody was attacked by a rottweiler, but the police filed a report saying it was a pitbull??? I wanna say it was in MA, somewhere in the Fall Rivers area I think...

Unfortunetly many "animal control" places label "pit bulls" under the "mastiff" type dog (not breed..just the mastiff family /type)

Thats how it is here in Okaloosa County FL. They classify them in the mastiff family and dont adopt out these dogs usually...

One other interesting tidbit to help in the battle.. the Pug is the smallest of the mastiff type dogs. Yep, the pug!!! So when they start that bs about the pit bulls, ask them if they adopt or consider the pug a vicious breed of dog.. after all, its in the "mastiff" family and should be given the same treatment as the apbt..

It could be many things, not certain without the article , but I would think its a bandog mastiff x apbt mix , they are very popular these days.

Can you get me some documentation on that????

There is this pug owner that keeps insisting that mastiffs and pitbulls need to be banned. She and I have gone head to head several times.

Her Pugsley and Monty are little beasts. Poorly trained and socialized.

Well DUH, if a dog attacks someone it MUST be a pit bull!! Even IF it looks like a poodle. Other breeds do not attack people.

My local shelter lists pits as bulldogs or bulldog mixes. They wont adopt out a pit or pit mix, it is euthanized as soon as the 3 days are up. They will adopt out other types of bulldogs though. Funny how the world works.

I know one thing, when a Doberman attacks someone, it never makes the news. When a Rottweiler attacks someone, it never makes the news: But let a 6-month old pitbull run the streets, and it will be a city epidemic.
