Daxie, I was not jumping your ass. Jumping your ass is what I would do if I ever saw you in person, asking that question. The questions I asked are things you should think about BEFORE breeding your dog. Am I an expert, not by any means. But I'm not a fly-by-night breeder either. I have had APBTs my entire life. Everyday I am on the computer learning about them, or I read books on them, I also call breeders who have excellent programs and talk to them. I have bred two litters since I have owned them. With the first litter, I had a great male and I went to find a female that would complement him. They had 9 pups and I know where everyone is. I gave all the pups to friend's and family members. All are doing great but 2 (passed away). The second litter I had, I had a stud dog picked out for my female over 6 months in advance. She had 4 pups and passed giving birth. I kept two and the stud owner kept 2. One that I kept was put down for temperment issues. Guess what, though, I still have not learned enough to keep breeding. Matter of fact, I have put off breeding for a while. The male I kept from my second litter is over a year old, and he won't be ready to breed until I accomplish something with him. I want him to be more than a sperm donor. I want him to contribute something to the bred. The reason I asked you those questions is because someone once asked me those questions too. It's easy to answer them all now, but once the time comes, it's a whole 'nother story.

  3. How many years experience do you have in the breed? Not how long you've owned any random dog....but how much EXPERIENCE? How much yard space do you have? Cause 10-12 pups plus whatever you have already is gonna take a WHOLE LOT of space...unless of course you are one to put that many dogs in a typical 50'x50' back yard or keep them kenneled all the time. How much knowledge do you REALLY have?....like if I asked you what 'entropian' was...(simple)...would you be able to tell me what it is, how to detect it, how to treat it, and so on...with out doing a Google search? Im not making assumptions...I am posing questions. your answer was "OF COURSE"....as if these things and abilities were common amongst people to be able to provide for a whole load of friggin dogs. In my experience, most people cannot handle and provide properly for 2 dogs, let alone a bakers dozen.
