Gsp Vs. Hughes

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by Aceman, Nov 19, 2006.

  1. If we are to compare PRIDE vs UFC in terms of willingness to confront, UFC (Dana) takes it. Dana (UFC) took his fighters to PRIDE atmosphere in the assumption this gesture would be reciprocated by PRIDE. Fact remains that PRIDE has chosen not risk their highly vested marquee names and loose their corner of this market.

Who brought whom to which organization to challenge same organization's highly promoted champion?

Why would anyone bring someone from "the outside" with high potential to win against a fighter they have invested so much in?

IMHO, if it does not make business sense, it must be making matching sense [to Dana]. Sure, Dana must have his eccentricities like many other type A personalities. It, should not negate his contribution to the MMA sport.

"horrible"? BJ mastered GSP and Matt on standup. Had outstanding takedown defense in both encounters. Undoubtable beat Matt two of three rounds. GSP won his encounter against BJ thanks to take-down "points". In the eyes of numerous fighting fanciers, BJ lumped GSP up.

So, when you say that "back int the day" he could compete does not give credit to the man that has high probabilities of beating either one of these men any day of this week or the next. Yes, he should do more road work and stop assuming his natural talents will suffice. His lackadaisical approach to preparing to a fight does not equate him into a "has been". He is still strongly coveted by all the top MMA organizations. I wonder why?

Well, if you see him tell him to work on his boxing defense and leg kick offense. If he ducks rather than cover whenever chuck flurries out punches, he will have better counter opportunities. DO NOT attempt takedown defense until mid second round. He must first weaken Chuck's legs which will soften his punching power and take down defense.
