What are the best crosses...

What bloodlines when crossed have consistantly produced good bulldogs?

What's your favorite cross-breeding and why?

Which, in general*, seem to throw dogs with the best mouth? ...gameness? ...wind? ...intelligence?
How about the smallest? ...largest?

*Yes, I know you can't judge every dog by its pedigree, but usually a bloodline is known for something, even if it doesn't apply to all dogs from that line.

 

Have a buddy that really is into the RB/Jocko, and started adding in some heavy TB with good results.

I personally like the Carver crosses, Carver/Jeep, Carver/RB, etc. I think that is a nice mixture of everything.
This is the breeding on a male i use to have, i really like'd it. Tends to throw the smaller dogs.

The cross i work with is Jeep/Redboy/Jocko/Bolio/Eli.

 

Personally we've had some lucky with the colby/jocko/bullshit/nigerino combo.. Seems to click very nice..

In general I think the best crosses are ones that are not more that 3 different lines. I personally like the cross of Eli/Carver/Patrick. Seems like these days everyone is using Jeep, RBJ, Red Boy, Mayday stuff and crossing all these lines together. I think these days people are just breeding for performance and not looking at the big picture down the road.

 

I couldn't agree more. Thats one thing about some people in the game that makes me very hesitant to believe they have good intentions.



I can't say what my favorite crosses are yet because all I can base it off of is word of mouth and not experience. BUT from what I've learned, I am leaning towards Jeep and Patrick/RBJ crosses. Plus, most of the Boudreaux stuff is good in my book.

 

I think the Gr. Ch Buck (PatrickXRBJ) blood crossed into some Eli stuff is a good one. Also don't settle for something you real aren't sure of. If someone wants to hook you up than go for it, but don't get talked into something you really don't want or your on the fence about.
I try and stay with the Eli/Carver/Patrick crosses because that is a great crosses and has produced some awesome dogs through the years.
I've seen a lot of peds. that have lots of good dogs in them, but are so scatter bred you'd have trouble starting a yard off them.

 

bolio/hank/carver, Bolio/Carver, Bolio/eli/Carver, Bolio/Maloney/Carver. These are the best crosses in my opinion.
