  1. This was e-mailed to me yesterday. I always here people say that they are all lazy and have no drive. What do you all think. Does this little females efforts of trying to jump this wall show drive? I know its only one dog but this was kind of impressive to me. Click the link

    "Drive" - VERB
to strive vigorously toward a goal or objective; to work, play, or try wholeheartedly and with determination.

Sure, Bullies have drive..but for how long? It's undeniable that they have breathing problems, most are overweight, and temperament isn't the number one thing when it comes to breeding them. Obviously bullies aren't comparable to gamedogs, because gamedogs are built for performance. My sister's Chihuahua has drive. My Boxer mix has drive. My 16 year old mutt has drive--believe it or not, she's killed an oppossum at her ripe old age even, and I could bet that wasn't a simple task. Any dog can have drive. But the Bullies' drive means little to nothing for most cannot back it up with stamina. What is drive without that? In that video, the bitch was giving that retaining wall a go, but towards the end it was apparent she wasn't into it as much. She looked pretty tired after what, probably ten minutes? Didn't seem too impressive to me, but that is just my opinion. Think of them what you will.

i think people say that blues aren't game. not that they don't have drive. just a mention.

  4. So your basically saying that after repeatedly trying to jump that wall god knows how many time with little to know rest inbetween jumps for 10 or more minutes that a non bully style pit wouldnt get tired? Your outta your mind!
I know that most people in here dont like bullies but I also think that some of you can be extremely unrealistic. I dont care what breed you are your gonna get tired...PERIOD!!! I wanna see a video of a non bully style pit getting after a hard task for ten or more minutes with no rest. If that dog has the same strength and stanima after ten minutes as he did when he first started, i will aggree with what you just said. Until then, you midas well put that theory to rest.

Exactly, being game and having drive are two completely opposite things.

  6. ...... what did we see? We saw a dog demonstrate average will, however, he was too heavy and, therefore, he could not be successful . A Gamedog is a working dog , able to be concentrated upon a task 100%. He was bred to produce 100% of achievement. Your Bulli has demonstrated 15% of will and 18.2% of ability. Look to you once at the physical constitution of good, healthy and physically efficient dogs. Then you will notice you promote a joke.

Ok,I just watched the video, and youre right that is a JOKE! I've never conditioned chloe and that dog can scale the six foot privacy fence in less than a minute.I wasnt even going to watch the video but now that I did ,I have to say that was extremly pathetic and not at all helpfull to the OP's arguement.Besides,if those were any kind of pit-bulls,the one jumping would've turned around and ate the other one for getting in its way.

  8. Really ? I think gameness has nothing with aggressiveness to acts. Selection with the help of the duel puts the aggressiveness not in the foreground. Aggressiveness plays in a serious fight not the decisive role. In a fight all signs will point to aggression not with pleasure seen (growl, bark et cetera). Some of the real legends were damn friendly dogs....

  9. hell i would be trying to jump that wall to if i knew that big mutt was trying to hump me to!

There might not be alot of videos out there of a gamebred dog showing its drive or its gameness for obvious reasons.. but just look back at the history of the breed.. Here's a few records from a book by Joseph L Colby

    12/12/1918: Curry's Man-O-War vs. Artimage's Bob (draw after 3:50, thats 3 hours!)

4/19/1897: Colby's Spring vs Gilligen's Crib (Sping wins after 3:15, hours again!)

April 1935: Miller's Buddy vs. Breeding's Tom ( Buddy picked up after 1:48 with NO turns made by either dog, almost 2 solid hours of fighting!)

Trying to jump a wall for 10 minutes is some drive... but its not the drive that the game dogs bring to the table. Bullies couldn't last in the box more than 10 mins with another dog hanging on them... they don't have the lungs( can't breathe as well), or the stamina (toting all that extra weight)... look at MMA or heavy weight boxing.. How often do you see a 300lb fighter standin toe to toe with another fight for the entire fight throwing blows? Or after they gassed and laying on each other after 2 rounds? Makes me remember the first fight between Irish Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti.. 12 rounds they stood toe to toe in the middle of the ring and slugged for 12 rounds .. still the greatest fight I've EVER seen.

That female may be determined to get over the fence, but then again, if she was a real apbt, she would have already been over that fence in one leap...JMO!

This has to be the most ignorant comment I've read in awhile. A "non bully style pit". That goes to show that you have no respect, care or education for the breed your bully styledogs are mixed with.

  14. lol my 10 month old puppies could jump that and never touch the stones. oh yeah i'm impressed for sure.

  15. first of all the video lasts 1:32 so how in the hell can you assume the lug tried for 10?

second, midas fixes mufflers and brakes ;)

HAHAHA... That made me laugh.. Trust the midas touch.. hehehe...[IMG] I try not to correct grammar, english, and what not but I am glad someone called that.. thanks Boog.. Hungover and all I needed that laugh this morning.

  17. OK first let me say that I never once said that a bully pit has as much or more drive than a gamedog. I am a realist and i know that they dont even have close to as much drive or game as a gamedog. I was just pointing out that maybe they arent as lazy as people say they are. I own 1 bully and 2 gamedogs. My gamedogs stay at my brothers house because he has 8 acres and he loves to work them. Its not even close when it comes to anything dealing with athletics. Speed, stamina, determination, ect.... But she(bully) does try for as long as she can. The fact is , 1.)They are not bred for performance purposes, 2.) They are flat out to big. That doesnt mean FAT. They are just bigger dogs period. Bones, substance, skeletal structer, ect... I have attached a oicture of my bully female. She is knowhere near fat. Not as lean as my gamedogs but not fat at all..

Now most of you made some verry good points and others made some not so good points and tried to interpret things in a way that i didnt say them.
There is no comparison. Bullies are what they are. You can like em or hate em. That video is only a minute and a hakf long. Im sure it was edited. They even change the view at one point. The point im trying to make is that gamedogs will get tired just like bullies. Fatigue will set in on any dog after minutes of continuous attempts at anything.

OK i could have said a "gamedog". Big deal. I was just trying to get a point accoss.

Im not trying to argue with anyone. You all have beautiful dogs. I come to this site often just to read and learn. I dont say much but I do keep my eyes/ears open because this site offers great info.

I already know im gonna get blasted for this one but its all good...LOL
Below ae some pictures of my bully female. The first pic is a male owned by a close friend of mune. The rest are my female. These dogs arent super ripped but they are not fat. I could lean them out more if I fed a lil less but they look good just like this. Most human beings in the world dont walk aroun ripped up every day of their life. That does not mean that they are fat does it?

WallStreet, if you are here to learn about the APBT & to particpate in positive discussions, then fine. But if you are here to prove a point that some mixed breed dogs are APBTs too, you are in the wrong place. If you are here to cause controversy & start arguements, you are in the wrong place. Just a warning.
