What's the best ground material for the dogs - pea gravel, dirt, sand, hay on the regular ground, etc. I'll be redoing my whole yard within a year or so, and I'd like to know what everyone feels is the best all around.

I use tire axles beat into the ground, an o ring connecting the tire axle to the chain. There is a web site that has a lot of useful yard setup tips...I'll see if I can find it and post it.

I know most people use chain set-ups, but some folks may use cable runs because of their land or surface. I've also heard of ground cable runs but don't know much about them. Does anyone here use a type of cable run set-up??

Well we use rock dust, it keeps them out of the mud and they stay cleaner :)

I use metal barrels and cut a square hole in it, and set it up on cement with 4 poles nailed into the ground around it to keep it steal. I also have plenty of shade over them and alot of bedding..
