Does any one know of anyone that breeds some good catch weight dogs. I have been looking for a male with a little more size to do some work with.No razors edge or gotti or any other cross bred dogs they will not work dont want one so dont email me with your 100 lb dogs for sale. I like the ofrn stuff but its hard to find a good working breeder of them. I was told Mr. Blankenship has some good catch weight dogs but I cant get a hold of him. I am not sold on the plummers alligator stuff seem to have a lot of over and under bites. I like the hemphill dogs, sorona, mccoys, I am not to pickey just want a good worker, and i dont plan on breeding him so I am not to concerned with the dogs papers just want a good dog with good traits thank you. any info on sgt storm mccoy is he a good dog?

I must be alone in my opinions, because I prefer my 40-55 lb dogs for hog/catch work than I do 60-90 lb dogs. If I'm going to go that big, then I'll get an American Bulldog & that's what I advise for other people to do vs. breeding "APBTs" bigger for hog/catch work.

go with a gamebred 45-60 pounder..if you want bigger go with a dogo they would have better breathing than a 90 pound pitbull..and if you want really big go with a johnson american bulldog..not a big fan of sarona bloodlines..

when i say larger i mean 60-70 not 90 lbs or above. I seen someone with dogos but dont know much of them ecept they are huge. what pits have a tendency to be around this size i know some will be smaller especially fem. When I say this weight also thats not a conditioned on a treadmill weight either, more of a chain weight. Just lookin for a good alaround bulldog with mouth and agility and energy that will work hard.

i have came up that the plumbers alligator were good but i have also heard of bad genetics in them. I have learned that some mayday dogs can be on the bigger end. I heard that norrod had some good dogs that can get a little size in some,420's male says 60 some odd lbs.I heard some mccoy dogs get big but i have seen some that seem to big. I am just tryin to find a reptutable breeder of some good workin dogs because i dont want to waste my money or time with a dog thats not going to work.

Blankenship dogs tend to throw animals that get from 55 to 75lbs and are game bred!
Blankenships Abe is a big dog that throws some size and his brother Tom Tu Jr does too.

We have some APBTs that we use (Bolio/Norrod aka Ironlines), but we predominantly use American Bulldog's (hybrids) & Catahoula Bulldogs as catch dogs. We run Catahoulas Curs, Blackmouth Curs, & 2 Running Walker Hounds as bay dogs.

Most of the Sorrells stuff that is of the larger size is coming from Sorrells/Redboy crosses, which is what Mr. B has chosen to use of late. We have used these dogs for a long time and rarely have one in that range. We do have some males that sit close to 50 on the chain, but conditioned weights are in the 43- 47 range. I do see some size come thru when we make outcrosses but it seems to return to normal when bred back to Sorrells. The majority of our females are in the 30 - 35 range and some even smaller. I honestly have seen the majority of catch weight dogs coming out of the Alligator stock and quiet a few out of heavy Redboy.

  13. Would say forged the 90 but some very good 60 out there....However we are same minded on this supject. The creme dela creme is a good 40-55 pound Bulldog.;)

Srgt. Storm is a great dog. However you will not likely get one as large as ol'storm off of him.I say this because Storm is a large strong boxy male and it complements him be to breed to smaller less boxy females. In other words If you have a Good catchweight male it makes no sence to breed him to large or catchweight females unless Catchdogs are all you are concerned with producing. Storm is a gamebread dog not bread for size. Ol man storm just took a third place in weightpull Today at the coldwater Mi show. His son Amico took first in the pull and a 3rd in confrimation. My female Belle Starr a daughter of Storm and bellymate sister to Amico took a 1st in conframation 18-24 month females. Another bellymate sister from that breeding May West wasnt at the show today but last year she pulled 2400 pounds before the age of 12 months at around 40 pounds and I here she is pulling close to 3000 this year. My female off storm is 45 pounds Amico is about the same and Storm himself was 68 pounds streaight off the chain at 8 years old. Imo If you would like a working dog a little on the larger side Rusty is a great stud.
