Jeep a cur?

I heard a story from a friend whos been in the game for a long time that Jeep tried to jump the wall in one of his matches and was caught and made to continue. He ended up winning. Just wondering if theres any truth to this or if it was just drunk talk. YIS, D.

 

I never heard this story before... it's weird... I really don't know what rules you guys are using now in USA, but in Southern Brazil/Argentina if a dog do something like that, he never will get a chance to prove himself again.

 

It could have very well been drunk talk. Thats why Im asking. Thanks.

 

Theres alot of talk of that on the internet that he did try to jump the box to get away from homer in their legendary match. Others should have more input on this topic at a later time.

Tell me, do you believe this? I mean, if any dog run one time, it's probably that he will do it again... it's very weird... for me nothing but crap!

 

I've read somewhere that he did jumped only because he got bit in the ass by Homer. I don't think it was an actual jump to get out of the pit. I don't think he was expecting a bite there.

 

... in a case like this it really can happen... if the dog suffer an attack in the genitals... but it's very rare I think...

 

If this dog was realy a cur then I would have with pleasure 10 curs. 1 male and 9 bitches. In seriously I think nothing has damaged the Bulldogworld more than this unnecessary of cur or not cur gossip. Most curs are two legged and tell curstorys.....:rolleyes:

 

There is no way to know unless you were there..It does'nt make much difference anymore as Jeep has proven to be a great producer..As far as him trying to jump, I don't believe it..There is no try to jump either he did or did'nt..

 

This thread was not even informational. Don't people get tired of debating if Jeep was a cur or not. lol...

That story sounds like another attempt to discredit jeep for his accomplishments in the pit and as a producer. However, his production record stands #1 in history books;and I believe jeep was as game as they come!

 

I agree...people will always hate. His record stands the test of time, and speaks for itself. He was sired by a Ch and ROM dog (Finley's BO) his dam was honeybunch another Ch (5x winner) and a ROM (all time leading ROM bitch btw). Out of his litter there were four CH's, and he ranks #1 now of all ROM dogs. Jeep is believed by some to be the best matchdog of all time. He is a 4x winner, and his win over Homer was over 3 hours long. He also won over another 3x winner over 2 hours. I know that the definition of game is loosely defined, but come one...that has to be it.

 

Jeep was one of the greatest all time producers and performers, no doubt about this... but Frisco have produced more Ch. and Gr. Ch. than Jeep.

I think is impossible to jugde this or that dog as the all time best performer only based in records, many other dogs have important titles as Tornado, Angus and Zebo (to figure just some examples)... once they never fought against each other, is impossible to, no matter who, call this or that dog as the all time best.

 

It is true that it is difficult to narrow down the one best all time dog, but questioning whether or not Jeep was game is, as GamebredDJ said earier was probably all just drunken talk. I am sure that just about any dogman or woman would be perfectly happy owning a "cur" like Crenshaw's Jeep. Please.

Also although Frisco has produced more Chs and Gr Chs than any other stud...as far as R.O.M points (no matter what weight you give to ROM) Frisco is number 1 on that list according to gamedogs.com http://www.gamedogs.com/rom_list.htm

 

I do agree... I really believe that there's no single dog that deserves this "title" but some... and maybe not even a past dog... I see many dogs today around the world that are REALLY impressive performers... maybe better than Jeep and Zebo themselves, I saw dogs in Croatia that were really good performers...

 

Frisco has like 21 pages of offspring...while jeep has 9 I think.So thats the big difference.not to take anything away from either dog just showing the difference...

Even if Jeep was the biggest POS rank cur in the history of the dogs, his production record speaks for its self. At least Jeep won 3 contracted, got his CH. and proved he was durable and game enough to go 3 hrs. I CAN NOT say the same for Frisco.

I can say that the breeding practices of Friscos owner have been questioned by more than a few people who knew/know him personally. There is some controversy about Jeeps offspring but not close to all the monkey business that follows Friscos name.

 

I consider both great dogs... controversy you can find in everywhere.... as politics... as I always say: "It's very easy to talk"...
