It's a nice looking bully. And you probably will catch flak here tryin to pass that off as a APBT...This is a site made for people interested in game dogs and the thing that related to them...in no way am i trying to be an a-hole...i mean just yesterday i seen a petition on here to get the UKC to remove RE from being classified as a APBT.

Why do you care if people in the streets would clown you for calling him a bully? FOr one, that is what it is....and for two, that is a good looking bully, but not an APBT. Be as proud in the streets with him as you were when you first posted his pics here.

If you register him with the American Bully Kennel CLub, you could keep his papers on you, and show a cop next time that it isnt a "pitbull".
The guy who started most of the mogrel bully scene has admitted to the outcrossing, and they have a seperate registry for them......take advantage of it.

  4. Yea your right about UKC possibly kicking Razors Edge to the curb....lol
Alot of Bully owners wont admit that our dogs are mixed with other breeds. May not be in the last 3 generations but its damn sure mixed somewhere down the line. I catch alot of flak on the Razors Edge Bully message board that I go to as well because I keep it real. Those people dont like to hear that their dogs are mixed. I got kicked off the board once just for being honest and giving my opinion. See the American Bully crowd is a lil different from the game bred crowd. When they get a bully its usually the first thing they have ever had that even looks like a pitbull. I on the other hand grew up with game dogs. Jeep, carver, redboy , gator, etc... That was my thing. Due to the possible UKC ban of RE dogs they have started a new registry for all bully breeds and have included the American Bully. The registry is called the ABKC (American Bully Kennel Club). This is a legit fully sanctioned registry. I have UKC and ABKC papers for all of my dogs.

id have to disagree with the statement "90 pounds of pure MUSCLE!!!!!"

that dog is not solid muscle friend.

Well, you have your ABKC papers, there ya go...take him out without a muzzle, and keep that paperwork with you.
IF the cops tell you to muzzle your pit. show em the papers, and tell its a different breed. You would be telling the truth

heres my gripe about the bullys: HEALTH PROBLEMS! i dont want the problems associated with english bulldogs or whatever has been used to create the low riders. when that problem is given to an unsuspecting buyer because someone called their "bully" an apbt, thats all ya get. one half pure apbt, and the other half is a potential for really expensive vet bills.

WallStreet - I want to say I really respect & admire you for keeping it real & telling the truth about your dogs. If we could only get the other 90% of Bully owners to get their heads out of their butts & do the same thing we'd be in business & I think the whole bully vs. pit bull fight would disappear.

It doesn't matter one bit if folks clown on you or if the cops give you a hard time. I would however as one poster said, keep the ABKC papers on hand for future reference for those disbelievers!

And you think that other breeds dont have health problems?

I would say that dog is a "pit bull" because the american bully is made from game american pit bull terrier lines and show ukc stock with show akc amstaff stock (or so they say) But I wouldnt class it as an AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIER. Because we all know the diffrence.

I dont think any of us can comment unless we have OWNED one. now people may say "I wouldnt have that thing on my yard if you paid me" but the purpose that these dogs where bred for is totally diffrent to the purpose that game dogs where orginally bred for.

Therefore this dog could be worth its weight in gold to one person and a pile of junk to another.

But no reason to bash in my opinion or make jokes from other peoples breedings.

I had what I thought was a close friend who knew I loved dogs, and wanted my help to start up his dog kennel.. It was mostly Razors Edge and what not, an some bloodline called "Togashi" that I had never heard of.

These dogs were ok, but I remember many times meeting with him and these guys selling bully dogs. The dogs I saw were atrocious. Against my advice, my friend bought this blue brindle male whose legs were soooo bowed out it looked painful. I told him..hey, thats a mut man, and those legs are really ****ed up.

He said the guy told him that with the right food, he would grow out of it. Needless to say, the dog never did, and he had to hassle him for a refund......this is the same breeder who tried to sell some unknowing people an inbred brother and sister as a breeding pair, until I told them to check teh papers he was givign them......really, I woudl say that 98.5% of these bully breeders are just trying to sell people who don't know better their junk......

I have been around these dogs, and loved the ones I knew personally, but the whole mixing of different breeds and breeding blue to blue to blue to blue has made those dogs much less healthy than their APBT counterparts, as a whole.

If you know genetics, you know that the methods used by these guys are harmful to their stock.

i'll stick with my 36 lbs of muscle

    ;)

don't feel bad though, people call her all types of names (whippet, terrier mix, etc etc)

kudos for you though, for calling it what it is, an american bully.

and you're right (along w/ cynthia), when it comes to bsl, we're all in the same boat.

The only thing that matters here is that you love your dog. The Bully is not my style of dog due to its inibilities to perform properly. The other problem I have is the people who try and pass them off as pure APBT. If people called them what they are I wouldn't have a problem with them but most try to pawn them off as pure and to me that is disrespectful to the dogmen out there who have given thier whole life to bettering this breed.

  14. I completely understand what your saying. My dogs do perform well but not nearly as well as my past game dogs. Acually its not even close. My bullys just carry way 2 much muscle mass to perform like your dogs do. They just get gassed way to fast. I always use the analogy of a track sprinter and a nfl running back. Most track sprinters are lean and verry agile. Most running backs in the nfl are real buff. If they were to race 100 meeters the track star would blow the football player away. If they were to race 400 meeters I would still give the nod to te track star. Cut it down to 30-40 yards and you may have a race...lol... Not saying that the football player is not fast. Its just that thick tight muscle he carries would hinder his performance. Bullys cant do what pure bred pits can. Its physically impossible.....PERIOD
Now if you wanna take a bully and game bred dog and race 30-40 yards, im in...lol:D

    PS....
All of my dogs have good muscle tone. Not as defined as most game bred dogs but damn good for a bully. Kinda like an offseason bodybuilder. Pics below...The first dog belongs to a friend of mine. I love that girl.

    Welcome to the board.

Nice looking dog's. However they are exactly what you say they are and that's a bully. Do they meet the standard or do they set the standard of a bully?

Shoot I wouldn't keep any dog of any breed out in that heat.

I agree. And yes in the public's eyes it is a "Pit Bull". Thats because the public does not know the difference. There is no such breed as a "Pit Bull" it is a generalization that classify MANY breeds. Thats why it takes owners when thier dog is out and about to tell ppl when thay ask what kind of Pit is that. I get it all the time with mine. Is that a red nose pit or is that a blue nose pit. I could shake my head and ignore them but I chose to educate.

One of my main issues with most bully people is that they want to have their cake and eat it, too. They want to have their very out-of-standard dogs, but they still want to call them "pits," as shown by the first picture in post #34. They're still straddling this line where they want to be associated with APBTs, but they don't want to breed to any kind of performance or conformation standard. I have no problem with bully owners who call them American Bullies. I think that's awesome. The dogs themselves are no more my cuppa tea than an English Bulldog would be, but as long as you're calling a duck a duck, I wouldn't begrudge someone else owning one.
