I showed UKC for awhile. If your going to do it you may as well crop because you likely wont win anything if you dont.

IMO, that's not true. Priest took a major his first weekend out, and his ears are natural. (One of the dogs he won over was cropped.) Terra took 10 points that same weekend, also natural-eared, and a little ADBA-lookin' string bean to boot. Most UKC dogs are still cropped, yes, but there are a lot of people now who don't want to do it, and are showing natural. IMO, if you want to crop because you prefer that look, then crop. But don't do it for an increased chance to get a ribbon. A nice dog will win either way, if the judge is worth anything.

Midlifeloki - you need to STAY OFF CRAIG'S LIST and save your money for DNA testing.
Did you falsify those ADBA papers or not?

You said you wanted to learn and be responsible, but you are certainly not acting like it.

NO I did not falsify papers... I did not know you could falsify papers. But it does not cost that much to even do a DNA testing anyways... so it would not be that hard to do it. ADBA dna kit is 2.00$ and the dna profile is 50$ and I have NO problem submitting a dna test.

I do need to stay off craigslist lol! I am bad about it I like to help with alot of rescue that is the ONLY reason I get on there but I have been doing good about not getting on there. I know my limits and dont need anymore dogs.

Speaking of papers I got the adba papers in the mail today and I paid for a 6 generation pedigree I should have got an 8 gen. Just to see what else was there. But blue has some watchdog n him..... dont know much about watch dog but I have seen people on here talking about it alot.

Would it be better just to stick with adba and not even worry about trying Ukc. ?

It's really more of a personal choice. Plus maybe a picture of the dog would help lead you in the right direction. Read both conformation standards, and see which one best fits your dog, and decide on that. Also, see which is more active around you. For example, ADBA and AADR are more active around here, and I haven't hear of any UKC shows around here (I might have just missed them). So, when I got my pup for showing/weight pulling, I am going to look for a pup with parents up to ADBA standards. Does that make sense?

IMO, try both, and decide which you like better. I like them both for different reasons.

My advice is to try them both.....without cropping the ears.

While I personally cannot stand the UKC nor it's shows, there is no reason for you not to get your dog involved in doing something you desire to do. However, the UKC is pushing for people to make their dogs conform to some overweight, oversized, intimidating looking textbook dog and I would throw that crap out the window. Leave your dog's ears natural. Bring your dog in at a healthy weight and well exercised. Who cares what they truly think? It is better to stand firm in what you believe in (i.e. the true APBT standard) than to conform to some ignorant peoples' ideas of what your dog should be.

The same goes for the ADBA. Bring in a healthy dog that has been well exercised. Have fun. Don't take it seriously. Use the opportunities to improve upon your dog's obedience and social skills and enjoy the chance to meet fellow APBT owners.

Well we are not going to crop her ears she is only 13 weeks old and pretty much to late now. I think as she grows her ears will change. I am going to look in to the different shows and o course she how she qualifies. I know for a fact I will be doing weight pull and obediance

She is not to old to have her ears cropped. However in my oppinion, it is a waist of funds. If your gonna do any thing that requires anestetics, spay and nueter!

People are gonna bullshit you till the cows come home! What else are you gonna buy?!?

Edit: if have a vet that is gonna just gonna sedate to chop those ears off, i recomend finding another DVM.

I don't agree. I show UKC and all of mine have uncropped ears. There are many GRCH and CH in UKC with natural ears.

Her ears are so AWESOME guys your ears look like bunnies lol! We are not cropping her ears. I have to wait until she is over a yr old to get her Ukc registration. But we are going to weight pull blue and that is it. I started working him a little but i have to get on here and find some info to make sure I do it all right.

Well it looks like you have a pup that is a mix of bluffalo and possibly game. so it is a coin toss as to whether it will do well w/ukc or not. My guess would be good.

if you alter the dog in ANY way other than it's natural form than there are registeries that will not allow you to participate in conformation events. good luck and hope the U.K.C. works out for you.

Of my four APBTs, I show three of them. One of them in UKC, one of them in ADBA, and the other in ADBA & UKC. I have seen dog with cropped ears and dogs with natural ears place; as well as, champions and grand champions.

But the one thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread yet.
The UKC inspection, required for dual registering an APBT, cannot be done until the dog is 12 months of age.
So the only way for you to UKC your pup is:
    (1) wait until he is 12 months of age and get him inspected
    or
    (2) get both of the parents inspected and registerd with UKC and then do a litter registration for your pup
The main reason for the inspection is to check the dog's temperament. If the dog can't pass his CGC test, he likely won't pass a UKC inspection. When Jaeger had his inspection, the judge physically went over him, handled his ears, his feet, bent over him, squatted down next to him, and was pretty much in his face. They will not pass a dog that shows any signs of human aggression.

Ya I know they have to be 12 months I raelized that when I read back over everything. So I am going to wait till woot is 12 month to try UKC but I will see if I can find some adba shows in my area.
