ok, i have asked this on another forum a while back, but i thought i would ask it here too since no one could answer it for me, my baby gurl wont take my rudy as a stud dog.. she loves him to death as long as she is not in season, but when her heat comes she hates his guts and kiks his a** all over the yard. now he is not a very dominant dog (wont start an argument, but WILL finish it) and im thinking this may be the reason why, he never gives up, and will continuously try to tie her with her snapping and biting him. for my program, i chose 3 stud dogs for her, and that was all i was going to use, rudy was supposed to be first, but she wont take him, so i bred her to the other 2 first, i want her 3rd and last litter to be with rudy as i already have the dogs i want and need from her 2 previous litters. i can blindfold her, and muzzle her and i know this will work, but i am wondering if any of you have ever had a similar prob with your bitches not backing up to a certain male?

Actually I have... We have a female who will not tie with this certain male that the hubbie wants to breed her to.. Poor guy worked for days with us trying anything and everything and no go. The final day after letting the other male try for 2 hours, walked her to the 2nd choice and it was done in 2 mins flat..lol She became a perfect angel..

Its a huge headache and I don't have the answer other than AI..

I heard from a dogman that all it takes for the tie is for the bitch to tilt her hip slightly and the breeding happens. If she doesn't like the male she's not going to be doing any tilting..lol Now I don't really know if this is true but it seems to make some sense..

California Jack put out tape on AI for dogs that you may want to get. On the tape he also had techniques on who to breed difficult breeder naturally. Here is his site and he has a board there so yu may want to ask him. www.ponchodogs.org I have also seen the tape auctioned on ebay but I think it's a guy that bought one from Jack and is coping them. You also may want to get a breeding stand.

    rocksteady I'll drink to that..

yep Females can be very picky. If they are dominate over a male, they sometimes wont let them breed

theres also other reasons a female wouldnt breed to a male.. Has your male succsefully bred to antoher female??

AI is a very good alternative. Its fairly simple to do lol, too. When done right, not much risk involved and IMO a better way to go with dogs that are hard to breed

yes the male has been sucessfully bred 3 times with awesome (thus far) results. though he seems to produce more girls than boys no matter which female he is bred to (hence my other question in another thread) she just wont take him, and she has even seen and been right next to him and nweport when they tied, and she still wont take him. my husband thinks it is because she considers rudy her brother, but i know dogs dont think like that, and yes she is a VERY dominant female and requires a male to rough her up a bit before tying, but rudy wont, he just tries to play with her first, and she will play but wont let him tie her. we did blindfold her the last heat, and got them tied, but she didnt take, so im also wondering if a female can refuse to be pregnant if the male is not of her choosing. as far as AI goes, i have instructions on how to do it, but i would prefer to do it naturally.

I have a bitch that goes after the male just for sniffing her!! LOL I dont want her bred, so its fine... but Im wondering how I am going to get her bred when Im ready to breed her... I have a few years to figure it out... so....
Have you tried a rape rack?? Breeding stand, as they are sometimes called... ??

It safer than having the bitch rip the studs nuts off!! LOL Thats what Paddie goes for... and all Bruiser is doing is sniffing her!! I have a pair of pantys on her right now... keep the arguements to a min.

I fully agree with Pitbitch. A breeding stand is an easy solution to your problem. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The phrase "rape rack" or "rape box" are not exactly accurate terminologies. Tell your husband to quit being a wuss:) There is nothing to be sensitive about.

I Think It Is In Animal Or Human Instincts That A Female Wants A More Agressiive Suitor One Who Would Stand Up And Protect Not Boew Down And Be Submissive.......it Like..lol...saying Spank Me:p ...jk:o ...lol

i think that is exactly what she is saying she wants s strong man to make strong pups, but rudy is strong, just not with her, he has no trouble dominating any other female, just not her.

i also recomend using a stand. it makes things alot easier. i always use mine even if the gyp is an easy breeder. just helps cut down on the what if's.

  16. lol! That cracks me up. I think that may be true- I don't breed my dogs, but my boy hasn't been unmanned yet. Our bitch (Scarlett) is fixed, and she tears him a new one everytime he gets near her. By the way- do dogs have wet dreams? I think Mojo spooged on his bed the other night while he was sleeping, and Scarlett tried to tear him up when she smelled him.

I agree, I used the box and it worked great. My female did the same thing to my male. She would tear him up and leave scars until I got a little more active with the whole process. I had to be right there holding the leash so she didn't turn around a bite him, but that's a small price to pay if you want the breeding done. I would recomend the box it if you truly want the breeding to happen.
