AC just visited next door...

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by MisanthropeKitty, Apr 11, 2008.

  1. AC just came to the house next to mine and took away at least one of his pit bulls. I know his female got loose yesterday and roamed the neighborhood a bit before she went and laid down on his porch til he came home. This man and his wife have been fighting a lot lately and I am almost positive she let the dog loose and maybe called AC, because he came home when AC was leaving and started cussing everyone out and I heard her and him arguing again... then AC left. What could the violation on that dog be? It has made me nervous just living beside him... I am currently growing a privacy hedge for the part of my fence that faces the road and IMO, it can't grow fast enough!

Loose and unattended would be the charge. It usually runs around $200 per ticket.

If you have dogs then be prepared for a visit yourself.

  5. I wouldn't be to concerned unless you are not handling your business accordanly.Just have your areas cleaned and your dogs watered and feed out there for them if they are out there on setups.Maybe give them some baths too if they need them.Really make it look like like the best living condition as possible.Just my to cents .Hope this helps since i have 12 dogs out in the yard on setups.

In your area do you have to register you dogs with the county? Maybe he didn't register the dogs and was worn many times and they probably detained the dog for him until he pays the yearly fee beause she snitched on him?

Just a little FYI , not all ACO's are out to get you. My sister is AC for our town and she is absolutely cool with APBT owners. If you are blatantly doing wrong within public eye view then sure I guess you'd need to be worried, if your doing nothing wrong and all your dogs are UTD with tags and such then should be no biggy.

  8. you do not have to register your dogs here... so i dont think that was the case. i really think someone called on the dog being loose the day before but i cant see them taking away the dog for that because she was contained when AC came to visit. I keep my dogs watered and i keep the front (visible) part of their fence clean of feces and trash.

I will explain my theory if I need to, for you. I have owned these dogs for a very long time, and its very common for AC to come to your house once they find out you have bulldogs. You don't have to be doing anything wrong, but they will come check you out. You are right the AC is'nt always out to get you, but they will come visit and if your yard is'nt in order, they will be out to get you. All I said is be prepared. Im not saying you have to listen to me, hell I don't know any of you and you don't live near me, so It don't really matter to me.

I agree with this. They're not all as cool as CD's sister. You better believe that...

Sure some can be nags and a headache if they got it out for you or your dogs. I find that most ACO's are too busy with real stuff than busting balls on uesless shit. If you treat them with respect and kindness you'd be suprised how far that can go. That old saying apllies, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Exactly. I have a good relationship with my local AC. They have been here a number of times over bullshit and I have never had a problem with them. I have had damn near every animal agency to my place and all have left and given us letters of there approval. We have 40 acres and still have a nosey neighbor who can't get over it. The AC has come to realize this and pretty much does not bother us anymore. We did have to get all dogs licensed with the county which was pricey, but I have'nt heard from them since. I actually had to get a couple dogs out of a different county and that county called my AC and local vet and both spoke highly of us. All Im saying is be prepared, and unfortunatly alot of pitbull owners are'nt that smart. To many people don't worry about takeing care of buisness until its to late, and you can't tell them nothing.
