I know plenty of folks that would and have paid that much for pups and dogs. Alot of times you will see high prices on pups/dogs that the owners don't really want to sell, thus the high price. If someone is willing to pay, "sold". Im not a real fan of the blood, but for those that are the breeding may be worth it.

true true... but one could say that your 600 dollars is my 1500 dollars. we all live in different places with different incomes and cost of livings. where you live, most likely minumum wage is 5-6 dollars, and where i am at, is hovering around 10 dollars minimum wage... (with other job salaries going up accordingly) ... and just to think... that chevy that we both buy costs the same price... in CA or South Dakota

1500 is alot. You could have yourself a heck of a yard if you had that kind of cash to throw around, you could invest in some proven dogs.

I couldn't see myself spending that much on a pup unless it was a proven breeding of say CH to CH or better .. or a proven breeding that will never happen again and it truely is rare, hard to get knock you socks of stuff...

but jman has an interesting point, so more power to someone who will spend that kind of money ;)

This is not necessarily true. For example, where I live the economy is quite poor. Minimum wage is just that - minimum wage ($5.15 p/h). As a result lot of things down here are much cheaper. You can find house trailers for rent at $150 p/m & my 2006 Dodge Dakota quad cab I bought for $12,999, a truck which normally retails for $18,000 - $20,000 in more prosperous areas.

Even the price of this outragous-azz gasoline varies from area to area.

So wages & services vary from area to area & as you said, $1500 may be chump change to one person, while it is an astronomical amount for another.

The fact remains however that for the most part the price of dogs is fairly fixed nationwide & in most areas $1500 can get you a darn well bred yearling or even adult who has seen time in the woods for that price.

But in the end folks will charge what they will charge & folks will either pay it or not pay it.
