Any UFC fans here, the comming up event is sick, the whole card is good, I think the Prodigy is going to lay the smack down on the Shark.........

B.J is the man.I would like to see Danna kiss and make up with Randy and hook him up with Feador. Now that would be a great fight.

too bad UFC is having money problems right now, if they can't afford to keep Tim Sylvia, i'm sure Fedor or Randy won't be back anytime soon in UFC. At least Tito will be gone soon........

BJ can win in several ways. I can only think of one way for MuscleShark to win......decision. I hope BJ is in top shape.....his conditioning has cost him fights in the past. S.S will rely heavily on dominating Penn with his superb wrestling skills, and his A+ conditioning. Regardless, I think Penn has learned his lessons from previous fights. I am taking Penn all the way.

I'm taking Penn, but I think he's an ass. I like Shark's conditioning, as stated before, but I am not sure if he's got enough skills.

Once again, stated above, Penn's conditioning is the KEY factor. If he's fat like he was on the Ulitimate Fighter show, there is no way he'll out last Shark.

How much is it? 50 bucks again?

I used to teach MMA at a Renzo Gracie affiliated Academy. Done my share of dojo challenge fights but never fought professionally. I have trained w/ and helped prepare many professional fighters. The last guy I helped lost to Cung Le, so you probably should not be that impressed, lol.

If you like MMA you should check out DREAM, the new version of Pride. The Japanese let their fighters fight more so than the UFC where they stand them up if it is on the ground for more than 20 seconds. American fans don't really understand the submission game they just want KO's.

The UFC when first founded was with Rorian Gracie. Based on the brazilian no hold barred matches. Back at this time americans were not schooled to the ways of BJJ. Hence, Royce taking on all comers 3 a night..take down and submit them. As it progressed you are correct most americans found it boring to watch 2 men roll around on the mat or let's say one slowly work the anaconda grip around his opponent until finding a way to submit. It you do not have a background in the technique which at the time most didn't they couldn't appreciate it. Once the UFC was out of gracie control and more sanctioned and controlled it took away from the technical aspect to a point by taking away, knees, head butts, hair pull, slowely working an opponent ..etc.etc. No hold barred gloveless fighting. You are correct it seems to have catered to what the audience wants or the majority of it. There are alot of sloppy unskilled fighters that headhunt and take down their opponent with lack of closing submission skills. Today fighters are skilled in both areas of the game but I'd take rickson gracie in his prime over any one today!

On a side note BJ has skills and is one of the best ground fighters today.

i train in MMA, specifically CSW( combat submission wrestling), so does sherk. greg nelson teaches it at MMMA. both of them have trained and taught at my gym. based soley on that alone, i am hoping to see sherk pull off the win, otherwise i would be indifferent. it should be a great fight though.

lonesharkpits, the UFC isnt in any money trouble at all, that isnt why they let sylvia go, in fact he wanted to go after his contract was up because if differences he has with the UFC. it is all the other organizations, with the exception of the WEC (which the UFC owns) that are going bankrupt or losing money. that organization is even in the process of being dissolved with some of the fighters going to the UFC, the rest are cut. the UFC is trying to shave off 1/3 of its fighter roster right now.

Affliction has been dropped by the UFC and has started their own MMA organization. They will be having their first event on July 19 in Anaheim Ca. The main event will be Sylvia and Fedor.

I'll take the Shark anyday over Penn! Not taking away from Penn, obviously he is a good fighter, but i really hope Sherk wins, i hate Penn.

:p We will see now huh! Like i said, theres no discredit to BJ's skills, i just dont like the dude one single bit!

I really want to see the Pulver fight! To me he is one scrappy little bulldog, same with Spencer Fisher - just love them! :D

I think BJ is going to beat the grill out of Mr.Sherk's face..When BJ is in good shape there is no one in the lightweight division that can beat him..

I agree 100%...if his conditioning is right....i can not see him losing. I can think of one guy who could maybe give BJ a run for his money. The guy is close to title shot....very intellectual fighter....humble...nasty elbows.......guess who???:)

Bj is extremely good especially when he is conditioned he is prety much unstoppable i love watchin the UFC i have had a couple of muay thai matches and I give credit to anybody who can fight a 5 round 5 minute championship match. my matches were only 3 rounds and 2 min and that was prety difficult fot me but it probably was because i did not do enough conditioning

If you guys get HD net, watch Dream...it is the new incarnation of Pride FC. I just watched the Alvarez/Jansen fight. It was a WAR. They were banging toe to toe and there were some slick grappling/submission attempts.
