i was looking at nelson bred bulldogs site and a lot of there dogs are off this dog and i was just wondering about him any good stories out there he seems to be a good dog but i have never heard much about him i mean he is a POR so that says something

 

Yea.... I considered taking my heavy Midnight cowboy bitch to him, but it never happened. Bailey is at P.O.R status, but look at how many times he's been bred. I'm not bashing, just stating the obvious. Hasn't produced well enough for me. JMO. Look at how many offspring were not turnouts.....beware!

 

so how many POR dogs do you have at your place?

Again BOZE, I am not bashing Bailey. Stout good looking bulldog. I've spoken w/his owner several times, we live pretty close to each other. What I was trying to say was I am more impressed w/ the POR status dogs, that reached POR in less breedings. Bailey is well bred and has been bred to likewise bitches, however, I think considering that, he should have a higher number of turn-outs. I'd shoot for somethin w/half the breedings @ ROM status because they are out there. To the wise guys--who don't interpret or misunderstand, "May The Force Be W/You!"

 

how many dogs off him have you seen and what about the btches you backed up to him? Did you get any show dogs?

 

If i was to go to any stud on that yard it would no doubt be Diesel i think he is a better producer.

 

Not knocking him dude! What's your beef? I just go for higher caliber dogs @ stud. That's all. Deisel would go to a bitch of mine first and I don't even like the Frisco stuff like that. Statistics are better. Have you seen any offspring off of him? Did you back your bitch up to him? I mean come on.... I have a very good yard, just the same as B.N. That's good. I'd like to see a lil more is all. I have a pup off his 1/2 brother and could take any bitch on my yard to him. I'm sure you know of GOODBOY'S J.D. POR!!!!!!!!! DONTCHA????????? I'd take a bitch to him first (considering her blood) over bailey simply based on the percentages. I am not a fan of the Frisco either, but a producer is a producer.

 

No need to pay a 500$ + for a stud fee to Baily and get a average or below average dog. If your going to take a bitch to a stud then you are going to want to take it to a stud that produces and has better percentages. I don't see why people would waste 500$ on hoping that stud produces a good dog. Now on the other hand you have to look at who owned Baily's offspring and if they are working kennels. Your stud isnt going to have a producing record if your just saling the pups to non working kennels and looking to have a nice papered dog. That just goes along with any stud.

 

That makes plenty since to me. Exactly what I was trying to say. Bailey himself is a pretty tough dog....I was never knocking him. But, why pay a stud fee of even $50.00 to an inconsistent producing stud? Where's minor threat now? Guess he hasn't seen your post. Watch out, if he does, you won't hear the last of this post you just made. He took offense to similar post of mine. Did he start the Bailey blood or something? Either way shouldn't matter. I wasn't knocking Bailey.

 

If it's the Tab you like, my buddy own's Goodboy's J.D. I may be able to lead you to a better producing Tab dog. Not to mention he is Double Tab AND HAS HIGHER PERCENTAGES than Bailey in just a handful of breedings.

IF you bred to him and raised the litter or most of it for yourself you could give an honest account from personal experiece but thats not the case and you havent mentioned friends of yours that bred to him that didnt get any show dogs out of it either, so your take isnt valid IMO

its the same as the forum experts attempting to figure out Friscos percentages based on what they see from peds online, clueless people

Well i got kinda interested in what this whole subject is about so i contacted a partner of nelson bred bulldogs and i will be inquiring a pup off this litter to see what baily really produces and ill report back with what i think. I will be getting a male off this litter when the gyp takes next time. Ive talked to nelson bred bulldogs before at shows and he stands behind his dogs like there the best so i guess we will have to see.

Too many times bred JMO should be ROM by now. People have the POR title confused these days anyway. 1 pt. only accounts for 2 dogs. There is a ratio involved, otherwise dogs w/100 offspring and only 10 1x show winners are POR. Not true. Just helps sell offspring. Again, I got the Good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!! Good day!!!!!!!!

 

I know you're not debating the fact that Bailey produces better than Goodboy.... Read my past post. You started this stuff. All I said was he was bred quite a bit not to mention I don't live far from B.N. & have spoken w/him on several different occasions. I will get the real numbers from Bailey and GoodBoy both just to show you. You have to be the only one that thinks Bailey is a better producer. If someone wants TAB, any person w/a 1/4 of common sense would run with Goodboy. He even produces producers like himself. Consistence is the key to the POR title. And you call yourself a dogman?

Brad is a good friend of mine and I've seen Bailey in person when we went to pick up Cherry shake. She is either a grand daughter or g-granddaughter of his. We are doing a DNA test through ADBA to determine who the sire is of the litter. A son of Cherrybombs earlier litter broke an O ring and locked up with her. These are the two possible pedigrees

either way Im happy with what I got. Bailey is an impressive animal, and so are his offspring that was on the yard.
Opinions are like a$$ holes...everyone has one, some may think Bailey's a good dog, and some don't. Some think other great dogs were shitty and others thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Thats just the way the world turns.
