Al White indicted on 46 charges

Ga -- Glenn Albert “Al” White, 58, of Epworth is set to be arraigned Sept. 12 in Fannin County Superior Court on 25 felony counts of dogfighting, 21 misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Appalachian Judicial Circuit District Attorney Joe Hendricks.

The Fannin County grand jury returned a true bill of indictment on White for the 26 felony and 21 misdemeanor charges Aug. 7, according to court documents.

At the arraignment, White will be given an opportunity to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty, Hendricks said. “An indictment is only a finding of probable cause and the actual guilt or innocence of a criminal defendant is determined by a trial jury,” he said.

Of the 25 felony counts of dogfighting, 21 of them are for White’s alleged possession of a dog with the intent to fight it against another dog, which is illegal under Georgia’s new dogfighting law, House Bill 301, which was enacted this year, Hendricks said.

The other four felony counts of dogfighting are for “allegations of actual dogfighting,” with two of the four being on dates before the new dogfighting law took effect May 6, Hendricks said.

Each felony count White faces under the new dogfighting law carries a maximum of five years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.

White is alleged to be a top-level, national figure in the underground dogfighting world and his dogs were purported to be highly sought after by others involved dogfighting, according to United States Humane Society Southeast Regional Director Laura Bevan, who was on hand when authorities raided White’s property on Al White Drive July 17.

The initial tip on White’s alleged dogfighting activities came from the Humane Society’s national dogfighting hotline, 1-877-TIP-HSUS (1-877-847-4787).

Depending on what type of plea White enters at his arraignment, the earliest time the case could go to a jury trial is Sept. 22, Hendricks said.

White is currently being held in the Fannin County Jail without bond.

My ? exactly. Not like a drug you have packaged for distribution. Maybe he was wearing a tag or something, I don't know. That was stupid, I know, just like the charges half the time. Just don't know what to think about these charges anymore.:rolleyes:

 

how to determine intent exactly! that is absurd, from the sounds of it he will only really need to worry about the 4 actual fighting charges ( felony wise) if he can retain a halfway decent lawyer

 

In US law, the standard for intent is pretty high. Now, I haven't read the GA law but I'd bet they worded it in such a way as to try and lower that standard. My guess is that the law might end up getting struck down on appeal but before that happens they will try and bust as many people as they can and wreak as much havoc as they can.


I'm not sure why, with proper surveillance it so hard to catch people red handed. I mean, if someone is actively fighting dogs they got to have rolls and so on and so forth. It seems like if a person was under surveillance they'd catch them at it.

Makes one wonder since that almost never happens.

did they find dead or starving dogs? maybe dogs that have fresh wounds on them? hmm...or dogs buried underground? solid PROOF? Boy now personally knowing how the HSUS and lawenforcement work together and lie,I don't believe anything as the HSUS and law enforcement get together and make up lie and when the law enforment agent and prosecutor are sworn infront of a grandjury ,the grandjury only see what the cops and prosecutor are saying ,no one else is allowed to be in there the accused is not allowed to defend themselves and lets face it most of us as average law abidding citizens see law enforcement swear to uphold the law and tell the truth belive it we don't expect cops to lie,but they do they lie and lie in our case the lead detective lied in 8 major counts to the grandjury and my wifes attorney filed a 12.9 to have the indictment dropped against her ,it worked for all about 5 minutes,then the prosecutor told the judge they were going to reindicte her so she was rearrainged all at the same time ,they know the are going to loose but it is a tatctict,law enforcement and the HSUS have been working on please if anyone can get the DVD in the line of fire it is a video the HSUS has put together for law enforcement how to get the media against us as well as the general public,they know they will loose the trial but they have won all the dogs have been destroyed in the last 5 years the HSUS has ended the lives of more dogs than all the worst of the dogmen in history combined! The HSUS doe not own one single rescue ,spay/neuture shelter so how are they so himane by destroynig peoples lives? and animals ,please show one article where the HSUS was involved in a raid and they ,the HSUS saved and rehabiletated and rescued animals that were not destroyed ! I don't believe that Al White was given a fair shake in his indictment and the grandjury was lied to by the lead detectives and prosecutor in his case,also I have found out froma confidential informant that the HSUS is tryin to find any links of Jakko,wierdjack,black jack blood that has Al names involved on the pedigrees so they have more evidince to use againsthim so beware of people looking for any of the lines that mr White's name is on ! Also the detective in our case didn't even know if there was enough evidence to areest us so he called the lead detective who was at Patricks property at the time and she told him to get with the HSUS investigator on my property and he told them just to say 2 charges of dog fighting even though wasn't enough evidence,the detective questioned the charges but his superior told him to do it anywasy on the intrim felony charges just to get the arrest ! You can say what you wasnt about the weaker dog barking ,but what do you know about Japan anyway?

This witch hunt is getting rediculous! Are we in Salem or what??? Jesus....if these people came to my house, they would find my house dog with scars on her...she's never been in a fight in her life!!! Shit happens, dog get into stuff, I just had a dog I was 'sitting get into this extremely thorny bush in my yard and get some pretty nasty DEEP cuts on her neck and back. With what's going on right now...these could me reason enough for them to come kill my dog and try me??? There are people raping, murdering, & molesting HUMANS...and nobody gives a shit...but see a guy who has a bunch of dogs and the means to properly contain them and prevent incidents, and he is guilty until proven innocent, gets all of his dogs stolen away, his life and reputation ruined.......all in the name of "saving the animals".....who are murdered by the same people who claim to give a shit about them! I have more love in my heart for those dogs than any bastard who would go to that house, sieze the dog, and kill it in order to 'save' it.

Please anyone ,please ,please,show me where the HSUS has tromped through in the name of the well bieng of the animals when have they directly saved the dogs,and I mean thehSUS not a nother unrealted agency ,please show me where THE HSUS has not left a trail of dead animals ,you woulkd think that the general public would have woke up and smelled the coffe by now ! New charges have been filed against Albert White, 58, the Epworth man currently being held in the Fannin County Jail on charges of 25 counts of felony dogfighting, 21 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

White is now additionally charged with rape, statutory rape, aggravated child molestation, child molestation and aggravated sodomy, according to warrants taken out by Investigator Roy Dorn of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.

White has been in custody without bond since his arrest on dogfighting charges July 17. All of the new warrants involve a single, 11-year-old victim, who came forward after White was jailed on the dogfighting charges, said District Attorney Joe Hendricks.

Gooid Point Stop Bsl I know I am going thru the same ordeal they are on a witch hunt and nothing is below them and the sanctity of the family means nothing to them as 90% of HSUS came from broken homes and broken marriages

 

yeah its a shame.

My old tyson dog (no longer with me) would go crazy over a boomer ball. he would literally drive through thorn bushes. cutting himself all over and then some people stopped me in the street & accused me of fighting him and all that BS. when he just was battling through thorn bushes.

 

The whole 'intent' thing is such bull. I think it's REAL frikking FUKKED up that I can't even keep a breakstick on me or in my truck, (which every responsible pit bull owner should have) nor have a treadmill to work my dogs on without being incriminated as a 'dog fighter.'

And God forbid one of the dogs has scars of any kind.

Ugh.
