Earl Tudor

Hey folks Iam looking for more articales and info on Earl Tudor also what are evrybodies opinions on his line of dogs past and present.Thanks for your replies. Coop-dog

 

One of the best things Ive heard about Earl Tudor was the fact that he wouldn't stand for there to be ONE flea on his dogs! I don't claim to follow anyone, but that is one standard I always duplicate. NOT ONE FLEA.

 

Don Mayfield wrote a indepth article about Earl Tudor in the now defunct PITBULL ALMANAC..The article was about 3-4 pages long and went into detail about his dogs,his family,and Earl himself,explaining Earls' love for the "english bred dogs" as oppose to the "irish bred dogs"..
I dont think that Tudor bred his own line per se,rather breeding any good dog that happened to pass his way(which there was a large abundance of)..After he aquired Dibo,he sent offspring back out to Az and those dogs were know as the "Arizona Aces",but I dont think that constitues a line of dogs..He was quoted as saying he would breed 2 dogs together,and later on if the pups showed well he would then look up the pedigree..The greats that he owned and or bred were numerous,and could be written about for days..
Most of the top guys from that era considered Earl Tudor to be the top dog..
DEFINETLY not a saint,there have been stories written by numerous dogmen stating that he lied,cheated,stole dogs,and forged peds,but most,if not all agreed that he was one of the best of all times and damn hard to beat..
If my memory serves me right Danny B.,Don Mayfield, & Don Maloney were all taken under the wing of the old master..Howard Heinzle spoke in VERY high regard of Earl Tudor as well..

Danny B From Oklahoma Has Said that Earl Tudor Stole dogs From people and just kept them when Danny B Met him he was almost 70 years old and Earl had the attitude of a gamedog Earl was a strange man he was not into breeding dogs but rather match them.He Would use all the males and Cull the females so nobody would breed into his stuff.Danny has said that Earls father had bulldogs so maybe thats how he had good dogs.He bred pit general and that dog was a monster freak he was so do agressive he would not breed to bitches in full blossom danny tried to stop him and could not.Earl Tudor had the best dogs at his old age and thats how he bred good dogs

 

It's an article dude calm down. I've read things about Don Mayfield but it is up to the indivual to make there own judgement.

its not just an article, its not about a harness or what to feed. its the words being said about a man who has passed away.

 

^ it IS just an article- take what you read in print at face value, for that is ALL it is, one persons writings.
not every person is an angel, some in the fold had/have their dark sides.
none of this is new earth shattering info- it has been out there for along time.

^^^ Yes I am talking to you. RR is right. Man that is why they CALLED it the game . Everyone used whatever advantages they could get to have the best dog. Some were good and some were bad. An just because someone is dead doesn't mean that they cant be ridiculed. I read somewhere that M**f**d would almost throw is stock to stimulate it in the box. Was I there? nope. Do I believe it? I don't know. But I could see how someone would try to get away with that. When thay matched back in the day. JMO

 

if your dad passed away or already has, what would you do if you heard someone bad mouthing him, whether what they are saying is true or not.

It is common knowledge to people who arent "new 2 the game" that Earl Tudor wasnt a angel..The things that he did, and was involved in have been written about at length by THOSE THAT KNEW HIM..

Who are you to gripe on respect for the dead when you can't even show respect for the living? You were raised for that too, right?

When someone asks a question about someone, a truthful person will give the truth to the best of his knowledge. All SPF said was that some dogmen had some stories. He neither confirmed nor denied that it happened. Now you could take it at face value and get all pissy or you could look into it, but either way you have nothing to be straining your chain about. No one in life is perfect, and all of did something bad that we may or may not regret, and it's going to follow us all the way to the grave and beyond for everyone that was aware it happened.

If someone was badmouthing my father and there was no truth behind it then you set them stright but if it was something happened to be true then you take it with a grain of salt like a big boy and set them striaght again. My father drinks, tends to overreact, and has been in more accidents than anyone I ever know. That isn't going to stop me from loving him.

Being raised to show respect doesn't mean you ignore everything bad that ever happened. People would spit and piss on this man's grave JUST because he fought dogs, and would completely ignore the fact that he did this breed some good, and you want to ride SPF because he said some dogmen had written some stories about him doing some stuff? Please...

This is a time for thick skin and open ears. If you can't do that, this isn't the breed OR the board for you.

 

I'm young too and I have alot to learn as well. So thats no excuse for him mouthin off and bein disrespectful to folks he don't know. Neither is were you are from, I'm form the city. and I feel that people live there lives the way they do and As a man if the way people feel about how you lived your life is goin to be a problem with you then you need to change some things. If not, it is what it is. I'm goin to do my best to be proud of everything in my life. if everyone else isn't, so be it. I don't live my life for eveyone else.
