Black Brandy's pedigree says black dogs were very rare. it seems like they were held in high esteem. i wonder if the performance level was that superior? it also amazes me that a lot of the great dogs in history were black or brindle. i have to test this theory with my next couple dogs. the cow patched one i have now is earnin his feed

  3. You have to look back in the day before the breed was seperated to three seperate distinct breeds, APBT, SBT, AmStaffT, from one source. In the STB standards of color there are no black dogs. Even the blackest of black dogs are registered as brindle or black brindle. This is from the early days of the breed(s). So with this understanding one could see who it was said to be rare for to be a "Black" dog within the breed(s). But when you get right down to it there is no existence of color without black coming first. What is Black? = The embodiment of all colors.

Black is not a color, strictly speaking. It is the absence of all color.

  7. WHITE is the absense of ALL COLORS; without base. There is no color that can exist without BLACK coming first wheather it be from a color wheel sectrum or genetic make-up, all colors come from black. White cannot produce black unless black is within its geneological make-up.

Hence: "From darkness cometh the light". Black must come first.

Accept it or leave it alone. This is known throughout the history of time.

    "De'nial ain't a river in Egypt."

BLACK IS THE EMBODIMENT OF ALL COLORS.

Neither are colors there it's settled! Seriously?? Lol. But talkin dogs I've seen good and bad ones both black and white seperately. Little white and cowpatch brown one female I had was one of the best on four legs. She was stolen by some scumbags this past summer. Around the corner lil black eli bred dog is cold as ice. Doesn't want no part of staying in the hunt. No set dominance

In Armitages book he talks about a dogman that was he referred to as a black man.Now that was in the 20's.A lot of the old timers had young blackmen help them with their dogs. They would give them dogs and they was trusted because they kept things to themselves. A lot of fighters had dogs or would exercise the dogs for dogmen because they where in good shape themselves.
