breeders who dont put correct dogs on papers

Discussion in 'APBT Bloodlines' started by NebraskaSlim, Dec 5, 2008.

  1. I recently baught a pup from a guy who I have baught a few from over the past 12 years , but when I got this last one he was evasive about the sire . leaving me to think he is hideing something . after I picked my new pup he began to tell me how he lost the same dog that is supposed to be the sire of the litter I just picked out . I have known him for 12 yrs. the other dogs I got were right on the money , in every way . so I know at least she should be a good dog . I just want to know are all competitive dog breeders doing this /? We all know this was a practice in the golden days guys did this to keep there breeding secrets . But dont fast lane dogs deserve to get proper credit (por & rom rateings )let me know what you think .

yeah, of course sires and dams need to be recognized. i have experienced the same thing but like you say the dogs are right on the money so what do you do??
Well i now have set up my yard and a personal breeding program. No more puppies to be bought just good dogs to produce. Fake papers are a pain in the a$$ but really, what do you do?? One thing for sure, burn no bridges that may have to be crossed later as long as the dogs are good.

I have said this till I am blue in the face. IF YOU DIDNT BREED THEM YOU DONT KNOW HOW THEY ARE BRED... And people will allways lie about how the dogs are bred if they think they can make a buck on it. Let me put it like yhis most puppy peddlers are as honest as a used car sales man. This aint a church soft ball game you are playing. J

I agree to some point but not every "breeder" is a crook and produces fake papers,,,however I do know a few but wouldn't purchase a dog off them period,,,,thats why you do your research,,,seek out the right people and get to know them.

I dont care how honest they are they didnt breed every dog in the ped. I bet tit for tat some where there is some little WOOPSIE in just about every ped. J

Paper hanging is common in many dogs pedigree's somewhere down the line your going to have paper hanging going on I don't care who's doing the breeding . IMO paper's only mean much if your breeding and showing other than that paper's don't make the dog the dog makes the papers. All of mine are ADBA registered but in all honesty I could care less about their papers LOL ... Fancy pedigree's don't impress me at all If I wanted to spend top dollars on a dog with a fancy pedigree I would.... I'll take a healthy well built dog with lots of heart and drive any day over a fancy pedigree. JMO though

isn't a ped sort of a map of what your puppy is going to be as an adult? but if all peds are fake then there is no point in them.

Sure it will give you an idea of where they stem from but paper's do not determine how good a dog will turn out. I didn't say all pedigree's are fake but many pedigree's are hung somewhere... It's my personal opinion I don't put faith in my dogs paper's I put faith in my dogs. I have seen dogs with no paper's that could give some of these papered dogs a run for their money so it can go both ways. It's nice to know what bloodlines your dog stems from and if your breeding you should know what your breeding but personally speaking pedigree's don't impress me much JMO.
