I completely agree Baha, I was thinking the same when I saw that ped too. I really think people need to be really careful of what kind of information they put out there. The "Man" will use whatever they can against you so why feed them the ammuntion willingly ?

 

There don't have to be any snitches (although at $5,000 a pop I'm sure there are) since the info is there for the taking off the net.

Marty, DJ and BadRap are the only people that have ever lifted a finger to save a single dog taken in a bust. Explain to me why it would be better to just let the dog(s) get killed? All anyone else did was bitch on the internet. That did the dogs a lot of good.

The only reason that I can think of is if people are only outraged at the deaths of the dogs because of the destruction of private property and don't really give a rats ass about the dog(s) for the sake of the dogs as living beings.

The baiting charge was interesting. Ed had a Chihuahua as a house dog when I was there. I wonder if they are claiming it was being kept as a "bait dog"?

 

^ i personally know that is far from the truth...DJ and Bad Rap (and Best Friends) are the ones getting the press, the small "mom and pop" rescues dont get much coverage, and most of them dont seek the press



as far as the WSK bust goes- it is strange that there has been no mention of the dogs current state.
and a 3 year investigation only yields 1 dogfighting charge? seems like a waste to me seeing how the NC law calls for 4-10 months jail time for the offense ( i.e. if you were to spend 3 years worth of taxpayer $$$ investigating said crimes-i would think you would want more than 1 charge, esp after what we have seen with recent raids and the subsequent aqquitals/not guilty verdicts)

 

I just talked to a friend of Ed's.
She told me that they won't tell anyone where the dogs are, and they won't let Ed sign them over to anyone, with the ongoing investigation going on. However, they have, also, been told the laws in NC are different than the laws in AZ and LA, and that they will not destroy the dogs, while there is a criminal case pending. We are all hoping this is true.
Ed and his are doing okay, besides their house being trashed by the raid. Right now, she says the best thing we can do is get the money raised for the court case.

 

Disturbing how the dogs are disregarded and the H$U$ is glorified. Typical.

We can rant and rave about these injustices all day, but the APBT community really, really needs to come together as a whole NOW because if things continue as they are... we won't have many dogs left to defend.

What is the word on the future of the dogs? I urge everyone to contact Wilke's County Animal Control and remind them that the dogs are not to blame for any crimes they believe have been committed. I know this is about the injustice that Faron and his family are facing, but let's not forget about the dogs that got caught up in this madness.

 

Just got some good news. Ed is out of jail and doing fine. From what i was told the dogs have been euthanized but dont take my word for it. The other 2 people that were arrested was Don (Ed's son) and Dons girlfriend. The word is that a undercover bought a dog from Ed and you know how that goes. They know who exactly who it was who bought the dog from Ed to.

 

They are NO friend of the american pitbull terrier. The breed I know and love. Now if you care to do a search, you will understand why I have formed this oppinion.

I wouldn't piss on any of them if they were fire! Diane Jessup could use some pink juice as far as I'm concerned.

If one stands in opposition of dogfighting you can damn well expect that this will continue to happen. They will not stop at just the dogfighters, they will move on to the pet owners aswell. Eliminate the dogfighter it is the acceptable rout.....

 

They dont have the right to determin what type of animal they should be. They do not help this breed. Thier intent is to move thier cause and to make a point.

You think badrap did something with those vick dogs? . They didnt do anything that someone with half a brain couldnt have done. The only true interest is to toot thier horn, opprotunity to make a name. All along working in tandum with the HSUS. Diane Jessup is in bed with them too...No wonder they fear not.

if you are refering to Best Friends, i dont need to search the internet- i have first hand knowledge about them and their ~tactics~ with 2 different instances. one was a dog i was asked to work with by a rescue i have worked with before-but then Best Friends said they were taking him...which led to them not actually taking him themselves, but sending him to an "affiliate rescue" in canada. upon arrival to canada, the rescue group found deplorable conditions ( hoarder) and brought the dog back to the states.
the second was a dog my gf pulled for Best Friends, then they pulled the rug out from underneath her.

If he is ALLEGEDLY in the top 10. That lets me know that they have about 7 more to go. (Well known dog breeders)... Sounds like a witch hunt to me. They are not interested in locking these folks up the just want the dogs.

 

No I was talking in general. I do not know where Ed's dogs are or what has happened to them. I meant like what happened to Floyd and Pat. It seems as though they are trying to take the dogs at the source.

I am a foster for a rescue and our group has several dogs from a bust in MO last year. Several of the dogs have been stuck in the pound for almost a year as "evidence", but I think the last of them is out now. Of course, this wasn't a celebrity or a "big name" in the dog fighting world, so it didn't get that much publicity(although it seems every bust you hear about was "one of the largest dog fighting rings"...:confused and I think there were only 15 or 20 dogs total.

The dogs from the Vick case, well, I will just say it was very political as to where they went.

And yes, I'm sure they will claim the Chihuahua was going to be "bait" to "make the pit bulls meaner" and "teach them to kill"...:mad:

 

Is anyone trying to get together a fun show or benefit show for Ed?

 

I know in florida the AADR is but i dont know about here in NC. Its probably best that there wont be one in NC because you know undercover's will be there doing there witch hunt. Im sure the aadr is under alot of pressure now because Ed was always at the shows and judging and they took his trophies that were from the AADD.

I think this all is a media thing and those peta people are only in it for the $$ they don't care about the dogs. Why else are they always (humainly)killed. They get a lot of money from all the fonds raising. This animal thing is BIG business.

In Holland it's (still) different with the animal people we now have in the coverment. Pitbulls where first banned here but because of the large number of dogs that were killed each year and the number of people being bit by dogs didn't do down with the ban, they changed the law. But they can now take your dog (all kind of breed!) and test it for agression. When he failles the test he's killed.
