I am posting this on a few other forums for opinions so posting here too
. I am wanting to get opinion on blue's weight and whether he is skinnyor In shape but needs a little more fat/muscle or he is just something. I got blue a year ago and he weighed in at 90 lbs and was a little butterball. He now weighs 60 lbs. I went from feeding crap purine, to diamond, and now he eats
strictly Evo Red meat with some added potatoes. I am reasearching some prices for possible switching to strict raw diet. He is also STRICTLY inside now. He no longer stays out on his chain even though we still have it set up.
But for now I wanna see what you guys think of him

    1 year ago 90 lbs

he looks good, quite the transformation!
some folks think that rib showing is a sign of too skinny, but that is not the case. he has no vertebrae showing, and no hip bone showing
i would say he is a perfect weight right there

    Good work!!!!!!

  4. Very good work.. And if I were you I would do alittle more research on a raw diet if needed and make the switch.. It is much easier to keep your little bull dog at his ideal weight on raw.. Plus he will be much healthier after the switch as well.. But none the less he looks real good..

I think he looks fine. I personally wouldn't take any more off him, but he looks great as is.

He looks great, especially for a blue. I have a blue brindle, and they don't seem to condition the same as the other colors (bloodlines).
In my dogs I prefer to see some ribs and a nice tuck up, maybe even a hint of spine while moving, but no hip bones.
You did a great job with him.

  8. I think he's at the right weight now...

I agree with ultimatek9. I like a nice tuck, a little spin and no hip bones. He looks great! I love to see a nice sexy blue;)
You could always work more on muscle definition but that is limited to genetics. If he gets more muscle you may see his weight increase too.
If you also start working him out like on flirt pole (how ever you do it) don't forget his calorie intake will need to increase.
Again great job! now if you post this picture on some boards I bet they are saying he is too thin.

so far I have had great feed back. a few have said to just add about 1-2 pounds. I dont want him to loose anymore. I just want to help him gain muscle,

as far as conidtioning I have been walking/jogging with him. and I have a toy attached toa rop we play with but other then that not much more. I am going to be setting up a spring pole in my backyard come tax time.

  13. My dog also has his ribs showing like that.. ppl are always telling me he is too thin? But my vet told me he is in perfect weight she wishes all your clients kept their dogs like mine... she says is it healthy for them. And the ppl who tell me mine is too thin usually have chubby to obese dogs themselves...

  14. He is a gorgeous boy btw!!!

I had plans for showing him in adba conformation but he ended up only having one testicle so he had to get fixed. SO we are just going to do fun shows and weightpull but he is still one hell of a great dog

Blue looks to be at the perfect weight. Great job! I would get him on a raw diet and cut out the potatoes. Dogs don't need carbs for fuel!
