so in this sense is it better to go with a dog that has repeated POR in the ped over Rom or #of dogs with xW's in order to predict what kind of offspring will be produced?

for example: if you breed a 4x to a 1x and POR to a POR or to the offspring of a POR which is a better determiniation of the quality of dogs produced?

 

Its all a roll of the dice, titles don't mean you'll get better dogs.

surely if you are breeding off a POR dog the likelyhood of getting a good dog is higher considering the offspring that have been produced in turn elevating him to the POR status (under the above equation).
As is breeding dogs with good peds is a better predictor of ones without knowledge of background. Not saying peds make the dogs but they give you an Idea of where it came from, what it's made of (genitically) and the ground work to where it has the possibility of going.
I know it's luck of the drawl but what's the determining factor to even consider drawling?

 

The determining factor should be the fact that you are using Good PROVEN stock.

yes, that goes without saying! i think what i'm getting at is does POR make a differrence if considering 2 litters if both litters are off proven stock, same blood, but 1 litter has POR in it more x than the other in 4 gens?

I know that breeding has alot to do with probabilities, math, as well as luck.
One thing I know is that breeding from proven parents helps alot, atleast with what i've seen. Not saying anything bad of papers or bloodlines, but I like to get straight to the point. My stragedy will be examining proven dogs, and also looking for proven grandparents as well, anything more or less will not matter to me. Then considering i've found 2 proven parents that have proven grandparents, I will then evaluate what they have as far as how they structurally are built, their wind, and what I personally like......what kind of bite they have. I will try to get as much as possible from each area, then hope that the offspring will come out how I like. Once I have something good then I can do my own breeding to improve any areas even further. Personally anything past grandparents on a ped does not impress me, any dog can have winning great grandparents, I will concentrate on stronger influences, the grandparents and the parents. Hey, i'm just learning so i'm sure there are flaws to this stragedy, anyone with advice please give it.

por is %...like a dog with 10 offsprings and 10 of them are ch

 

Correct me if I am wrong but POR was a term used by the Registry and ROM was a term used by the SDJ.
