The funny thing is, she is actually the Brute, she came out first but even right after they were all on the ground you could tell she was alot smaller than any of the other ones. I never seen the runt born first before but I'm sure it happens from time to time, probally just a mix-up when they start getting positioned for birth or something....

  8. I've always had a soft spot for the runts, she is a cutie. I hope she makes it, it sounds like she is in great hands between you and Mia though. Good luck!

She is doing alot better now, we are just pulling the other 3 hogs off Mia and placing them behind her and letting the lil girl feed by herself to make sure she has no compition (which don't make sense to me because there are 10 full teats and only 4 pups so there really shouldn't be any compition but the other 3 will bully her off her off the teat shes on) this way the others have to find there way all the way around Mia which gives her time to feed unbothered for a bit. we are also feeding her 3 to 4 times a day with supplement milk just to make sure she is getting enough to eat, she is still pretty tiny in comparason to the others. She is doing real good today, shes very active she has a strong suckle now. I did however get a couple feeding tubes just incase I need them and some dextrose and ringers for any other unexpected events that may occur.

I fully believe in that phrase too but I look at it this way, #1 - this blood is so rare that I will do everything in my power to keep them all thriving (and not for $$$$ either, all 4 of these dogs are spoken for and I didn't get a dime for not one of them, on top of having spent alot of money, $600.00 just to get my bitch down and back from Florida and time to make this breeding happen, vet bills etc.) I'm in it for the bigger picture, and #2 - my dogs don't quit on me so what kind of person would I be if I quit on them, sometimes they just need that little bit of extra effort to help them out in the begining. (Hypothetically speaking :D, She could be the gamest one in the litter but we would never know that if I just let her die!

I WASNT SAYING JUST LET HER DIE
BECAUSE NOMATTER WHAT YOU DO IF SHE WASNT STRONG SHE WOULD HAVE DIED
    ALREADY
    JUST A MISUNDERSTANDING
I ment it as more of a complement
    and not an insult:cool:

Glad to hear the small one is doing better, she seems to be in great hands.
As you said, they dont give up you and vice versa, the breed could do with more owners like you.

    Best of luck with them

Well, things arn't going so good for the runt, She's dehydrated so I've started 5 cc's of Sodium Chloride, sub-Q and 3 cc's of pedilite a day on top of changing her feeding time from every 4 hours to every 2 and I think I'm going to start feeding her with a feeding tube right into the stomach, maybe that will help. She's still tring though so hopefully I can get her hydrated and go from there.....the other 3 pups are 3 to 4 times bigger than she is so, shes living just not thriving:(
