The greatest pit dog ever?

I knew of one who went to school 7 times and only 1 lived pass the 10 min mark. That's the only time he was outweighed by 7 kg.

 

Its so hard to pick just one dog,one era is different from another. For one reason nobody has seen them all and reading about them just doesn't cut it for seeing in person what they could or couldn't do. Everybody has a favorite that they like for one reason or another. Like Hootens Butcher Boy would be a good example of a bad dog ,he could do it all,then you got Art,Zebo,Melon Head etc. and then you have some really good females as well Tornado,Shady,Molly,Queen etc. I think any dog that has won 3 or more against good competition you could never count out as long as weight is the same and fair conditions no advantage to either dog. Its just a matter of who you like.

 

Redrumdog, if you dont mind answering who is the best male and female you ever seen, and why???Thanks for any response...

I could name some 30 or 40 year old dead dogs I never laid eyes on but I think it's better to have that kind confidence in one's own dogs instead of fantasizing about dogs long gone, that most have never seen only told inaccurate stories about so I'm going to have to say the best 49 pounder to wear a collar is in my back yard. Known as the Cardinal in the swamps. Can't speak for the millions of dogs out there I haven't seen personally just the one I've seen myself.

Plus it's an impossible question to answer since many greats never meet and many stories are hyped up.......

I would have to say Tornado for females. She was so smart and could stay out of trouble and she beat some good dogs that was backed by great dogmen.Tornado was something special A male dog I saw that is not well known was a big black dog called Jake. He was strong,aggressive,could bite like hell, had endurance,and he was game . For his second show he went against a dog Ken of A-team bought just to beat him and paid a lot of money for considering Ken had over 500 dogs he had to go out and buy one that could beat Jake . But Ken's dog Sparkomatic lost in like 3 hours after busting Jake up real bad. I know Jake is not well known, but I think he was one of the best I ever saw. I would also have to say Robert T was one of the best males I ever saw because he could do it all and he won something like 14 and lost only 1.

I can't say much about Jake or Sparks breeding. Jake was owned by one of the guys from Chicago area I believe . But Jake beat Whitehead(Stompanto breeding) from the Yankee Boys at 51 lbs.. Now white head was not a 51lber and was past his prime. But at the same show Virgilson(54 lbs) won over a dog at the same show. The owners of Jake offerd to take Jake against Virgilson that night and give 3 lbs,Ken declined. Ken searched for a 54 lb dog and bought Sparkomatic (Texas bred is all I know). Ken paid a lot of money for Sparks and considering Ken had something over 500 dogs says a lot of what he thought of Jake and what it would take to beat him. Now also Jake went up 3 lbs and Spark busted Jake up real bad early and Jake came back to stop Sparks in almost 3 hours. That is about all I know about both .

So I am just a student of the APBT history, but I have to say one of my favorite dogs was MM Homer. His drive and mouth according to Mr. Hughes, were very noteworthy. Also because he was in my Buddy's pedigree on his Sires side. (yea I am biased I know)

In addition I just really like his look.....I found it interesting Mr. Hughes got him off Honeycutt and then traded him once and then traded him back from Honeycutt for Snooty.

I have also loved the legend around Wallings Bullyson, I think I have a thing for those lanky black dawgs....but the thought of them driving in a car with this dog and the antics they had to put up with (if true) has always made me laugh.

As much as I love the long lines and elegance of Homer and Bullyson, my Buddy aka Quiet Thunder, looked like his mama's side..he was full of bull dog as his mama was Saint Benedicts Sherrie.

The Dirty dog was highly spoken by most that seen her, the chPandi dog and chLittle Momma bitch were all similar wieghts and the best in thier class...
