Bolio was known for his ability shown in his 1st and only match. Redboy was known for producing a line of dogs known for their wind and deep gameness not for HIS gameness per say!

Hey im a bolio fan but yall keep using the word game and as far as i know he never had to prove that, his one win before Patricks got him he was voted best in show over alot of good dogs lol not gamest in show which means to me that he overwhelmed his oppenent you dont need to be game to do that. I personally dont think i could choose between the 2 as i love both lines.

He (Bolio that is) was voted best in show on a 7 match card which included Gr.Ch Boomerang. Bolio had to go about 2 hours against a 2x killer whom Bolio flatlined. The general consensus was that Boomer and the others who won that night blew the doors off their opponents, but Bolio had a tougher time and had to come from the bottom to flatline a 2x flatliner.;)

these two dogs had traits and passed them along to create two exceptional families but just because the papers say-so, does not mean they are true to their ancestry.
Redboy dogs are traditionally thought of as game and dumb as a box of rocks. would scratch into an oncoming train without hesitation. not a lot of mouth. a lot of the 1st and 2nd generation redboy dogs (straight) one won, maybe two but there was never enough of them left to go for 3 thru 5. the more popular cross back in the day was to the jocko line. rough hard mouth dogs. the RBJ dogs were rough and game but dumb as a box of rocks. had no issues with trading for one hour or all night...they would be there...then the addition of the hollingsworth line (bolio) to make the mayday dogs. the bolio added brains and pound for pound strength to the mix..the mayday dogs as a whole, were/are more complete packages across the line.
as for bolio, he threw pound for pound strength and pit intelligence. bolio dogs do not have a reverse gear in their genetic make-up, they can't be pushed around and they use leverage and pit awareness to outclass the next guy. a 40lb bolio dog will be as strong physically as the next 45-50lb dog.
my personal favorites are the bolio/redboy dogs. like this pedigree. own both of these two dogs. i have been trying to breed them for two years. she has erratic cycles and until this winter he has had no sexual desires whatsoever. finally got him bred to another bitch and will make this breeding when she comes in again..
