I thought they are all around the best damn dogs on earth...so I would say of course they can be house pets..just don't bring them to the doggy park...:D

I keep em both ways, In the house and out on the yard and have for years, These two are 7 and 3, both are fully cranked but can live in harmony together yet neither will tolerate other dogs (They are mother and daughter if you couldnt tell just by looking lol). Some of them make fantastic house dogs others don't. These 2 are 2 of the best dogs I've owned, both are house dogs and both are fantastic house dogs with the exception that the one on top has a toilet paper unrolling fetish if left alone lol.

Pay no attention to them being lard asses right now as it is extremely cold here and I fatten up all the dogs in the winter months whether indoor or out.

AGK that is a great pic. Great looking dogs. Curious, how much do they weigh? They may be lard asses, but they also appear small (which is great IMHO).

Does it get cold in FL? it was 50's here last week and 20's this week. usually this time of year here its low 20's to the teens regularly with 2 foot of snow or more. Hasnt been too bad this year or last though.

I keep 2 game bred dogs as house pets, now that being said I'm retired and I'm home 24/7 so there is always someone here to watch them!
A game bred dog can make an excellent pet as long as you know what you've got and how to deal with situations that their extreme drive can create.

Thats right on Blackcloud. This cant be done with every dog as they are individuals. Knowing your dogs and a lot of socialization to accomplish 2 same sex ( or oppisite sex for that matter) dogs co-existing together. I wouldnt even try it if I was new to the dogs, but the longer your around these dogs the easier it is to know the signs that a problem is about to happen.

I am happy to read that lot of you have gamebred dogs as housedogs and pets.
I am very interested to get an gamebred dog as pet too
Can you leave a gamebreed dog for 6-8 hours alone in your house?

Depends on the dog, I keep my dog Mia out constantly. I work 9 hours a day and am gone for almost 10, Never have any problems with her, her daughter lil miss geach cant be left out alone or she'll chew toilet paper and shoes and get on top of my kitchen counters to get bread, bannana or whatever I have out that she can eat so shes crated or chained when I'm not here. Just depends on the dog and how fast they get bored. When they get bored is when they will start finding things to do to amuse themselves that you probally wont be so amused by....
