Cant blame Vick, all he did wrong was get caught. And most of his dogs did get placed only because of national attention. It proved the gamesog isn't man aggressive even fresh out of the box but if the public eye is closed....... Kill the beasts!!!!

  3. Until we (as a society) start focusing on the core of the problem, which is breeding dogs (of any breed) for sale to anyone with the money, then the problem of overpopulation and irresponsible ownership is not going to get any better. There needs to be legislation that makes it illegal to breed dogs for public sale without a heavy licensing fee. If you want to advertise dogs for sale in the newspaper or with flyers on cork boards, then you should be required to obtain a license. If you get caught trying to sell dogs to the public without that license, then you should be heavily fined. I am not talking about a licensing fee of $100 dollars. More like $1000 or more. If you are serious into the dogs (no matter the breed) then this shouldn't be a problem. I am talking about selling dogs to the public. Not private sales to associates or friends. If you want to advertise in mediums such as newspapers or the like, then you should be required to obtain a license with a heavy fee attached. Adoption is fine, but there are too many idiots who run to the shelter because they woke up one morning and decided they wanted a "pit bull".

I personally would never rescue or adopt a grown dog because it's easier to build a stronger bond and easier to train a puppy. And I completely agree with there being a licensing fee for breeders to cut out the people who are throwing any old dogs together just to make some $$. But it would have to be more than $1000 cause one pup earn the fee. I've considered the possibilities of a licensed ownership as well with some classes attached because an all out ban isn't going to do anything but punish the responsible owners.

Unfortunately the rescue situtation is like alot of other things a "monkey see monkey do", its kind of a fad right now. No disrespect, there are some organizations that really make a difference. However, having an animal rescue organization is the easiest way to obtain 501c3 tax shelter status. Which brings to mind a douche bag show Rescue Ink. My two cents!!!

  6. As another game dog fancier who has done her fair share of rescue, I couldn't agree with you more.

Very true and blunt. One point a man felt sorry for a dog and gave the guy $35.00 for him and the rest is history.I'm not saying all dogs will turn out as good just a point.I do believe that Pitbulls are not for some people.

JMO but I would put all the pits that need adopted to sleep. At least they would be safe that way. Even if two out of every 100 adoptions go bad then that would still be enough for the mass media to sling more unneeded mud. That way if someone wants a pit and has to pay some decent money on it maybe they would either not buy it or learn more about what it takes on owning one. Anything that weed outs idiots or educates them would benefit us.

To prevent them from getting into the wrong hands I say put em down. But then I'm not a fan of bulldogs in irresponsible pet owners who knows nothing about the breed and thinks its "all in how you raiset hem" hands also not a fan of them in the "i got a bad ass rednose and bluenose pit" hands either..

You would think so, but I'm afraid Rally is right - you instead will just get more "Got me a Red Amuhricun, Blue Gator Pit for only $900..."(translation - I just got f#*$ed out of $900 for a big $hit eating possible maneater mutt) , while lots of good dogs die.

The last sentence is very true, however.

  17. after seeing of tons threads from other bulldog forums (and i hear the same shit offline) where people's dogs are aggressing towards children, women, jumping over the fence, biting the neighbor and asking what they should do with their dogs. bleeding hearts are bitching at other lovers and owners of bulldog breeds, because their opinion is "kill it, dirt nap, euthanize it, PTS". i think its best if ALL the shelters, CLOSE their doors (and euthanize all the dogs)

if you beleive there is an over population of dogs and that is a problem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then you are part of the problem...

look at it like this a lot of these people pushing for so called "adoptions" are really selling dogs .... i dont have problem with someone buying a dog from a so called rescue but i do have a problem with stupid people giving and asking for money in order save a animals life .... for every dollar given to save a dogs life that is a dollar stolen from a starving kid what a waste of peoples time and energy ... CHARITY for dogs LMAO what is the deal folks there isnt a dog on earth worth 10 cents of charity when there is still people in need

I am not agianst rescueing.Athough I would never rescue a dog myself when there are quality breeders out there.I do beleive that most rescue organizations use incorrect methods in testing these dogs though.I have seen toy babies used to simulate real babies. The dogs that show any prey drive (not to be confused with agression)will always go after a toy. They no the difference!I personaly think less people need to own this breed not more.If rescueing a dog fills some void in your life or makes you happy more power to ya.But culling is best thing this breed or any other has ever seen.Whithout this every breed would suffer as most of the AKC show breeders have found out the hard way.We need to realize that culling (killing individuals for the sake of the breed) is part of haveing them. And not just this breed all breeds. There is nothing wrong with loveing your animals. As long as you remember they are domestic animals. They were made by us by breeding for the caracteristics we want and culling the ones we don't.Rescues seem to feed on putting human emotions into animals and many times trying to convice people that it is there resonsability to rescue.Just my thoughts on the subject. No offence to rescuers as some of them are freinds:)
