good post hemi and while i like what he is tryin to do i think i agree with number 3. I think that he is tryin to help the majority of the US which no1 has done b4 and its freaking people out. The average american is well off. Im not saying the average person is unable to financially take care of themselves and families but the number of people without health care is ridiculous! I just believe we should do what helps the MAJORITY rather than what helps ME! Obviously thats not the way people think in 2K10. They look down on or just dont give a uck bout ppl worse off than them...

Any decent American should care where he is from, This country has a certain set of laws that a lot of people have seem to have forgotten and the laws I speak of is The Constitution Of The United States Of America. When it comes to friends and dogs that is one thing, But when it comes to governing the most powerful country in the world and spending vast amounts of money we need to make sure we have someone that complies with our laws in the first place.

I think it is great that you got to go to school on account of you being able to play basketball, Nothing wrong with that what so ever and I am sure you will end up making something of yourself and maybe then you will understand why those who earn do not want to hand things to people.

Something I never will be able to understand is why everyone thinks they are entitled to what other people have, Just because a person has money or health insurance and are able to care for themselves does not mean that you are entitled to it as well. You have to remember that Americas poor are some of the richest people in the world, If you want to see true poor and true hardship you need to look at places like India where it is not uncommon for families to live in the garbage dump and their home is a piece of tarp strung up on two poles, They salvage what they can from the dump and try to sell it for whatever they can get for it. They drink water that you can't even see through and often bathe with wild animals and more often that not this is where they get their drinking water from. But here in America your "Poor" already receives health care via Medicaid, They have nice housing through government assistance, They get plenty of food and such through state assistance and in most cases can even get a vehicle handed to them for free if they are using it for work. But yet they still complain that it is not enough, And they feel they are entitled to everything that a person who has worked very very hard and long hours to attain. They are not entitled to anything and they receive more than enough assistance from the very people they despise the most...The wealthy. They receive this assistance through taxes that are paid and things of that nature.

This man ran his campaign on the "spread the wealth" platform and he is now trying to do so, Well I am sorry but this is not a spread the wealth society and nobody is entitled to anything.

I remember when this speech was put out there, And the first thing I said was if he is so big on anti secrets he needs a dose of his own medicine. His entire family was the biggest bunch of secrets and crooks you could get.

I am going to leave my responses in the order that you put them in.

(1) it is not anyone's place to take care of anyone other than their own family, I am seeing that sense of entitlement issue again with your first point.

(2) I guess I would fall into that category because I support the constitution and he is not fit to serve as the president of The United States. He is president in name only and I have been of the viewpoint that the day he was sworn in was the day I don't have a president and I also do not recognize any of the members he has sworn in as his staff and such.

(3) I also feel that this is a big waste with way to many earmarks that have nothing to do with health care and more to do with Husseins special interests.

And for your questioning on the $250.00 part of Husseins stimulus the simple reason is was it was intended to help the seniors, Disabled and folks like that.

WHat about giving all of his (Houston) buddies no bid contract in Iraq? Halliburton KBR etc. ummm no. So it is cool to help the ballers and it is ok to leave everyone else hanging? I dont think so. This PRESIDENT is helping the poor and the middle class. If you are trying to decide to pay a bill or go to the hospital that is a problem. Whats funny is I have a friend that got sick a couple of years ago and went to the hospital had no insurance. He had to go because he could have died if he didnt. Almost crapped in his pants when he got his bill (it was in the thousands). Has really no intention on paying it because he is busy trying too keep food on the table and feed his responsiblities. But what is amazing to me I read recently him bitching about the Healthcare bill. LOL Comical to me because we are going to get stuck with the bill. Hey anyone that goes in the hospital with no insurance guess who pays for that?

Well it was just one of the sites that came up, But you can find it anyplace and they were in fact sent out. None the less like I said I wanted nothing this man was offering.

But the argument of his nationality is not old or played out, It has not been answered and we as a country have been lied to. His birth certificate is not the same as other men or women born the exact same year,Day and place as he was and the fact that he was able to travel to countries that barred Americans from traveling to them regardless of age proves that he is not a American citizen. If it was resolved and cut and dry there still wouldn't be any questions about it and there wouldn't be thousands of lawsuits across the nation demanding him to release it, If he had a proper birth certificate wouldn't you think he would release it instead of spending millions and millions of dollars fighting these cases? I say if he truly was a man of the people he would release it and take the millions he has wasted on a cover up and donate it to the very poor he is trying to help, I also say if he truly was a man of the people he would for go a lot of the things he enjoys such as private jets, Limos and security guards to name a few and take the money he could save on that and do one of two things with it either take the billions he would save on aircraft alone and give it to the poor he is supposedly supporting or take it and put it back into the debt and knock it down significantly with the stroke of a pen.

John McCain offered to do just that to not add to the deficit and star the country on a solid path to recovery. This MAN is not helping the poor and middle class, What he is doing is a hostile takeover of a country and putting it under the guise of helping the poor and middle class. But as far as President Bush giving tax breaks and credits to companies I say no that was not wrong, Reason being that gave them chances to expand businesses which in turns offers jobs which is what people need. But it is taken back to that entitlement issue again with you, I can't understand why people think because someone else has something that they are entitled to it. If a person wants health insurance go get a part time job or cut grass and you will be able to pay for health insurance no problem, But they don't want to do that. They would rather sit and cry about how they can't find a job or they are discriminated against or they are the working poor and then sit with their tin cup out looking for everyone else to take care of them. It is not the place of the wealthy to take care of every single person and it is wrong for folks to expect things handed to them, If this fool pisses the wealthy people off just enough and they decide to put their money in different places and find the many loopholes that exist so they don't have to pay tax this crock of shit is going to fall in on it's self. I believe in helping people but I also believe in people doing their fair share or more, And there is no reason why people like your friend can not set up a small payment plan and forgo some things to be a man and pay his bills, I see no reason why people like your friend can not pay even $15.00 a month until he gets it paid off. But they would rather not and just sit and say things along the line of "I gotta to eat" and leave it for someone else to pay.

No harm in being sick and that is not their fault if they do fall ill, But for god sakes act like a man and take care of your obligations and this means doing WHATEVER it takes. Floyd Boudreaux is a prime example of this, He is not a wealthy man but he is a MAN and he did what it took and worked to pay off astronomical medical bills without any help from the government or anyone else, But that is just the difference in men and upbringing I guess. Where I come from and how I was raised I was taught you took care of your obligations no matter what, If I had to work 5 jobs I would do it and get it done so I expect others to do so as well. I never ask people to do things that I haven't done myself and I damn sure expect them to give 110% in everything that they do.

You are 100% correct on that with money not being worth I think the paper it is written on. Like I am sure you know it isn't just papers but it has cotton and linen I believe in there as well, So theoretically the mixture that the money is printed on is worth more than the actual note since there is no gold behind it anymore.

everyone has valid points and as far as paying rent food stamps and such i agree. Healthcare is important and thats why most countries have universal healthcare. Anyone heard of check and balances? Obama CANNOT do whatever he wants, he hasnt been able to do 80% of what he wants. I think a man should stand on his own two but if you cut alot of other stuff and NASA, no clue why we spends billions and shuttle launches, i think healthcare would help the country alot

 

But the problem is most do not quite understand what universal health care is, The law makers and citizens in the countries that have it will be the first to tell you just how awful it is. Sure you have access to health care but just try and get it, And when you get to be my age they class you as just not being a productive member of society and regardless of what it is they will give you a aspirin and sit you in the corner until you curl your toes. I remember not to long ago several law makers from Canada were on the news pleading with America to not adopt universal health care because it is just awful.

But as far as who a true American is to me, I believe it is someone who is proud of their country someone who is BORN in our country when it comes to elected officials and when it comes to immigrants I believe a true American immigrant is someone who obtains citizenship legally and washes their hands of their old country and lives and dies for America 100%. I don't believe that the Europeans who blazed the trail for America were wrong, It will more than likely anger Indians when I say this, But they were not doing anything with the country and if left to their own devices more than likely would have done nothing with it. At the time they were primitives but now they are productive members of society and look at what has happened over the course of history in America, It was taken from nothing and turned into the largest country in the world. I understand they were slaughtered but they also slaughtered many of our men as well, And I think they are very nicely compensated in the forms of land, Free money, Health insurance and being able to live under their own laws.

And as far as checks and balances yes I have heard of them and it would be nice if it was followed but they are not and this is especially true with Hussein. Fact is the overwhelming majority of Americans did not want his health plan and it was jammed down our throats, The majority of Americans did not want him to be elected but that was jammed down our throats as well. Also it doesn't help when you have a majority of your own party who all need oxygen fed down Hussein's throat so they can breathe because they are so far up his ass. Whatever he tells them he wants they hand to him plain and simple.

I am with you though on NASA, I never have been able to figure that out as well. But back when that went on I remember sitting there watching the television and seeing some mighty unusual things with that first landing on the moon.

 

Social Security's Bad Deal for African Americans

African Americans rely more heavily than other demographic groups on Social Security for their retirement income. According to the Cato Institute, three of four black retirees rely on Social Security for half or more of their retirement income, and 37 percent rely on Social Security for all of their income.
Although Social Security's rate of return is dismal for all Americans, it is particularly bad for African Americans:

• According to an NCPA study, a 20-year-old black male can expect a real rate of return of only 0.73 percent, while a white male can expect a return of 1.82 percent.
• White 20-year-old males can expect 47 cents in benefits for every $1 they pay in taxes; 20-year old black males can expect to receive only 34 cents.

This is so because the rate of return on Social Security taxes paid is inherently linked to length of life, and blacks have a shorter average life expectancy than whites across all income levels.

• The average life expectancy at birth for a black male is 67.8 years, while a white male can expect to live to age 73.9. [See the Figure.]
• Average life expectancy for a black woman is 74.7, compared to 79.4 for whites.
• Thus a black male can expect to pay Social Security taxes his entire working life but receive less than a year of benefits. White females will collect benefits for almost 5 years longer than black women.
• And blacks average nearly $21,000 less than whites in lifetime Social Security benefits, according to President Bush's Commission to Strengthen Social Security.

Furthermore, blacks are more likely than whites to enter the work force at a younger age. But since Social Security ignores up to a decade's worth of payroll tax payments in calculating benefits, they get no extra benefits for their extra work.

Welfare.
Say the word and millions of people conjure up images of Black people instead of White people. When people hear that word, the first image that comes to mind is of Ronald Reagan’s vicious insult known as “Welfare Queen.”
Everyone by now knows the tired, old, worn-out retread of racist/sexist imagery:
-the Cadillac-driving-has six children-getting rich and livin’ large welfare queen as created by Reagan during his presidential campaign to win votes.
Welfare is a society issue that should be faced with reality and not racist hatred. Welfare programs of all types were created as relief programs to help down-on-their-luck Americans through destitute times until they could obtain, or regain, a better economic position in their lives.
There are many types of welfare: Social Security, AFDC, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. But, many people prefer to put a Black face on welfare, instead of a White face.
The majority of Americans who receive welfare checks are not Black. The majority of those who receive welfare checks are White people.
Whites receive the lion’s share of welfare benefits, and they benefit in many ways at the expense of Black Americans.

Honestly I believe it is a scapegoat situation, Much like you used. You ran out of things to say so you decided to try the race deal to try and get a point across. We are talking about health care and you bring out social security that deals with the black and white issue, Why not bring out something that shows what blacks and mexicans earn or asians and pacific islanders why does it always have to be taken back to white individuals? Point is there are high and low earners in ALL walks of life and amongst ALL people, Not just black and white.

I guess though it is sort of along the lines of why America is the most hated country amongst other countries, People can't stand to see something prosper. We built America from nothing and have flourished, Blacks and other races that are not preoccupied with finding all the faults and things that the "white man" supposedly does to hold them down and keep them poor have also flourished and moved on with things.

It is honestly a joke anymore to play the race issue, There is no race issue anymore. If you truly lived during that time and got to see some of the things I seen you would see why I think it is a laughing matter to sit there and say something is racist in todays world in America. Next time you see a person strung up on the courthouse lawn and left to ripen for a few days for not stepping off the sidewalk and taking his hat off when a white family was walking towards him or if you happen to see a young man that gets held down to a tree stump and get his genitals cut off with a hatchet and is left to bleed out also in the main street area for taking a 5 cent loaf of bread from a bakery then by all means feel free to say that is racist, And I will gladly agree with you. But because someone didn't get their way over something...Come on that is just childish and it is leaving people all across the country with a very bad taste in their mouths.
