Does anyone here use a swim tank ? I dont have access to oceans or lakes around my house that permit me to swim the dogs. Someone reccomended a making a swim tank.... i googled it no such luck on plans for that one lol. If you have one what did you use and how did you set it up ?

    Thank You

  2. A big horse trough. I have seen alot of people use them for swim tanks. I never personally used one cuz I have a big lake.

Well arent you lucky Ms Vader LOL j/k ...... i googled it some more anything i could find honestly. How does one think a pool would work out ? I found a 18' wide 4' deep pool for 100 bucks, all they gotta do is be rigged to the center of it right....you blow up the ring around the top of the pool and fill it with water and the walls inflate automatically. Now one would think the dogs would "pop" the ring but i was thinking if i buy some more of the play mats that my son used to play on while he was younger ( square multi color clip together ones ) and line the top edge and inside of the pool with those and rig up a set up like a clothes line to attach the harness to that i would be some what ok ? what do you think ?

    I have these exact mats

A swim tank would be so cool. Weld a bar in the middle and a detachable harness at the center...awesome work out.

I took my dog to the river on Sunday, and since his recall isn't fantastic I leashed him up to a fifty foot leash and tied it to a tree. He is pretty dumb and targets objects out of his reach so he spent five minutes swimming in place at the end of the line trying to get a stick that was a foot beyond him. haha Fail. But a great exercise!

if you use one of the horse troughs put some gold fish and an algae eater in it too.make sure you take them out when you clean it.the algae eater no need for an explanation, but get this the goldfish will eat any mosqiuto larva that they try to incubate in the water.i learned that on a farm.

I did the "big" above ground pool idea...picked one up from craigs list with a pump for 75bux I think...the only thing to be careful is with the dogs nails and the bottom. I have rivers and oceans around here, so to use them more.

I passed the pool on to a fellow board member here. I think we may try to put it in the ground and see if it makes it any better...
