So where I am from the owner of a popular radio station also happens to be one of the biggest BYB. His kennels breeds only 'the finest quality blue bully pits' also they only breed 'short thick and wide low rider bulls' from the best quality lines like RE gottiline and what have you. Now my real problem with this is the brainwashing effect it has on the people as his ads play every five minutes day in day out. The effects can be really be seen in the shows around here as working shows allow a bully portion of the show that lasts like two and a half hours because of the number of entrants and the thing is they do not work and it is a working show!
It is so bad you could literally walk and trip on some sort of blue something anywhere. People are paying 20 and 30 thousands dollars for blue bullies which roughly translates to about 4000-5000 US. They in turn cross them with regular APBTs or other blue dogs trying to make a quick buck off of their 'investment'. The classifieds are littered with puppies that are not placed before being born like responsible breeder practices.
This fad is so bad that little kids do not know what a APBT is suppose to look like they just see blue bow legged dogs and believe that this is the athletic, never say die dog I grew up with. The effect is so bad you can hardly find any game bred stock around here. It took me a year or looking and researching to find the puppy I am going to pick up on the weekend. A few years ago it was very easy to find quality stock and this is what is frightening. In a few years the game-bred APBT may well be extinct. However, I have found some breeders that are dedicated to the real APBT but the vast majority is selling out because as they say they are business men.

Are you kidding me? those are the real deal right there!...Anyways, its pointless to keep ranting about this issue, because in reality no one gives a damn anymore about what a real apbt is. long as its popular and making money their gonna keep getting theirs. In a couple years the boxer will be the NEXT dog, and thats whats gonna be making money.

 

I know it is pointless but the marketing strategy makes me sick and breed preservation is a real issue to me. Honestly in my part of the world I am not sure if this fad is going to pass it looks like the APBT would end up being lost. The few breeders I know are doing there part and I would as well but it doesnt look good.......For example people do not know what the word gameness means of what is game-bred dogs or what a pitbull is suppose to act like. They all think APBTs are guard dogs and indiscriminantly aggressive.

i didnt see no cockeyed dogs but that aint my type of dogs, and at least they're calling their dogs american bullies and not apbt.

 

Maybe they are just stupid looking dogs and I am wrong but as a quick example this dog looks slightly wall-eyed:

See how the picture was taken level with the dog's body but the right pupil is drifted up and to the right and the left pupil up and to the left.

I don't know maybe he is just a really stupid dog and looks like he is staring off into space in two different directions at once....

for some reason peddlers that sell overweight unathletic dogs allways seem to name their brood stock names like "coco chanel" or "deisel" . those are some unhealthy looking pigs there. il set the bbq up bring em round so i can cut som bacon off their back!

 

Yes, there are always "show freaks" in my breeds as well.... Poor dogs look so badly built they can hardly breathe!

I feel ya. My dad is a cable guy. He met this dude who gas "pit bulls" the other day. He says you should go talk to him. He's more into dogs than you are. His last one he paid $2200 for. I said dad, my last pup was a gift. Her daddy is a ch. She was free with the papers. He got ripped off. I go talk to this dude. His male is "American terrier and gottiline" his female is "stafforshire and scatterbred". She looked like a English bulldog mix. I'm green as Fuk but I know what a real apbt is. It ain't no fuckin gottiline that's for damn sure. The sad thing is these people who don't know shit confuse and misinform others who know less than that. And by the time I try to tell them something, it's a waste of breath for either of em. That's why I tell people I have box terriers. Boxer terrier mixed mutts, leave me alone.

lol @ MCS yea the misinformation is getting to me I am just kinda sorry for the people who would end up buying one of these and being let down. Just kinda sucks

 

Good, let all the wannabes snatch these up and leave the real bulldogs alone. These dogs are better suited for gen pop anyway. Slow, unathletic and no drive is perfect for the majority of people wanting a dog for looks.
