whhich is better show dogs or game dogs

 

a game bred dog that has the potential to be both

 

They look like great dogs there. Lots of GR CH in the peds.

 

I think the reason I went with the ADBA is becuase their dogs tend to be a mixture of show and game dogs. My baby girl Nu-Nu is definately a show quality dog but she still remains a very gamey. I can walk her with other dogs and take her to the dog park and all the fun stuff. But I do have to keep a good eye on her or she will try to start fights all the time. I perfer a game dog over a pretty dog any day but I love being able to have both in a perfect little package.

I must agree with you on this post. ADBA is the true APBT in my eyes. UKC way too much UKC/AKC breeding going on. Is your dog a PIT or a STAFF choose one and stick with it. I will ONLY have ADBA dogs until I die. Loyalty is #1 on my list. Not to say there is anythin wrong with the other regs. I just like to keep my apples and oranges seperate. I with you on this one man good post.

here we go once again, not trying to sound like a d!ck but, the papers dont make the dog, the dog makes the papers...but with that being said all of the registeries will register anything. It's all about the money...the adba will register 100+lb crosses just like the other registeries.Thats why it's important to find a good honest breeder that you can trust.

 

and also, I had a post on what the adba really thinks of its own standards..use the search function...you'll see from their response that will register anything .

 

I'm sure he'll reply, but I just wanted to say, when I refered him to this site, I did'nt ask him what his dogs pedigree / Breeding was, I just knew his dog was ADBA registered and he was looking forward to showing ADBA....We both frequint another board and I knew he would'nt get the support needed when just starting to show ADBA he was looking for ,so I refered him here..... hoping it would be better.....

 

hey i'm not knocking his dogs...as long as they make him happy and he takes care of them more power to him, i haven't even seen them they might be a perfect example of what the breed standard is supposed to be ..but he also needs to know the truth about the adba..all i was trying to do was to give him some knowledge

 

I agree, a dog can be most any registry / breeding and can be registered ADBA, so, one would have to know pedigrees to know which registry / lines a dog truly is.....as long as the owners happy, thats all that counts.....

My thought exactly. I hate how the AKC says that there is no such thing as a APBT but they allow A LOT of there dogs to be UKC/AKC shyt does not make sense to me at all. wHY I LOVE THE GOOD OLE ADBA

The one and only reason I choose ADBA is because they are the only APBT only reg. that I personaly like and who I think has the best idea of what am APBT should be. Yeah theyr will register a lot of mutts just like the others will to. Like you said it up to the owners and the buyers to know a good dog from a bad one. I personally know some mutts with papers and the people are making a killing . I gotta go but more later
