SDJ JULY 2010 E-ZINE IS OUT NOW!!!

CLICK HERE AND JOIN SPORTING DOG JOURNAL ONLINE NOW!!!

In this issue, we bring you an exclusive 2010 interview with legendary dogman, the living legend : Ozzie Stevens!!! You can also read about : GR CH CROATA, CH HOMER ROM, CH RASTUS, GR CH VIRGIL ROM, CH WILEY, VILI ROM. You will also find some excellent information on conditioning and breeding etc.

The e-zine (PDF) version of the Sporting Dog Journal will be published 12 times per year, and released around the 1 of each month. That’s right you read it correctly, this is not just another 6 issues per year magazine.

Our format is much the same as the “old” SDJ. There will be show news, stories, information, Champion, Grand Champion, and the ROM list etc.

As well unlike the old SDJ, we are not owned, or do we have a preference to and specific dogman, or bloodline. No longer will you have to receive a magazine that is solely dominated by the editors choice of associations, and bloodlines of their associates.

This is just a broad overview of what we will be offering in the Sporting Dog Journal.

Yearly subscription to the Sporting Dog Journal is $35 anywhere in the world.

Since we realize that many of the magazines that have come out as of late have not been serious in their commitment to the breed, and have folded in short order only to leave those with fully paid yearly subscriptions having to bite the bullet. With this in mind we are offering you the opportunity to try out our magazine without a yearly subscription.

Single issues of the Sporting Dog Journal will be available for the cost of $6 per issue for the first edition of the Sporting Dog Journal.

You can make a credit card payment online via paypal.

We highly recomend to specify the username for which payment is made. When making the payment paypal lets you add a note to the payment, use it to specify your username and any other message you want to convey to the administrators.

To make a secure credit card payment via paypal just click the button and fill out the info.

you do realize that the "sporting dog journal" is a registered trademark and you are clearly violating copyright laws and can be sued by the owners of the trademark.

also it is clear that anyone who publishes anything considered to be "show news", whether real or invented will end up in handcuffs.

Borat... I believe he's covered... its the International Sporting Dog Journal... and he's located outside the US... also since Bob Stevens won his case I believe magazines and videos are fine now... but I am no legal scholar.

imaging me starting a computer company outside the us and calling it "international" apple computers. i would be slapped with a cease and desist before the doors opened.

a trademark is a trademark and if that thing is making a profit the owner of the sdj trademark can clearly sue for copyright infrigement. the bob stevens case had nothing to do with trademarks.

this is clearly not sue-happy apple.

if the owner(s) of the sdj trademark want to sue they can. unless you are one of them i don't see why you're so bothered.

when someone like jk put basically his lifes work into running and building up the sdj "brand" its extemely insulting to see someone just come out and rip it off. it is one thing to create an offshoot but putting out a "sporting dog journal" online is just blatant robbery. these people are trying to profit off jack and jays work.

there is a reason why what they are doing is illegal and that is to prevent people from profiting off another persons years of hard work. what if i decide to open a kennel and call it floyd boudreax kennels and advertise "boudreaux dogs for sale" online? would that be ok or would i be ripping off someones name and years of work? these dudes could have called this thing the sporting dog bulletin, or bulldog journal, or sporting dog letter, or anything else. instead they chose to steal a trademarked entity in order to make a buck off someone else's back.

aside from all this there is the obvious issue of an "online" magazine that is open to anyone, and can be hacked into and monitored by anyone with a computer. the journal was not open to the public and even the hsus admitted that they were never able to obtain a subscription to it. what kind of retard would send something like "show news" to a shadowy online magazine that could just as well be a federal database for pit bull owners.

You're making a lot of assumptions here.

You could be right but it is international now...the game is changing for better or for worse! And it is up to each as individual whether or not they want to send in reports may it be fiction or non-fiction.

It will never be the same as the original SDJ as references were needed to get it back then and the legitamacy of "refs" and "who's who" is hard to track especially being so wide-spread!

So take it how you want it as the days of old and how things were conducted back in the day are gone...most of the dogmen I know now deal within there own circles nowadays...

i know most dogman aren't going to build a rocket any time soon, but really how hard is this to comprehend? how is it an assumption. these guys are putting out an online mag and calling it "sporting dog journal". if you actually have a copy of an old journal look at the inside cover where it says the sdj is a registered trademark.

please explain to me what "assumptions" are being made.

it says no such thing lol, the inside cover is puppy ads and the other is a stud ad.

im looking at the nov/dec of 85' edition with anderson's CH. TONKA on the cover

I hardly think it is a legal "REGESTERED TRADEMARK" or "COPYRIGHT".
Your going off like JK was a 100% honest guy! He used that mag to market the dogs him and associates were running.....(I'll stop there)

the later journals say copyright, 1972, all rights reserved. secondly, i know everyone thinks this is so funny, and that its ok to just blatantly rip off someones years of hard work, but even if the trademark was never officially registered it still can hold up in court. the thing is, and im going to quote an old timer i know, "most dogmen aren't too bright". things like legal issues, and the concept of stealing another persons hard work is beyond them. the other thing is many of the people in the so called "dog game" are also completely unethical, so really it doesn't suprise me that everyone on here thinks its ok to make a buck off someone else back. shit thats what people like ca jackoff and many of these peoples hero's have done for years.

you call yourself "stp fan", well they were friends with jk, did he use his mag to promote them? or did they use it to promote themselves? was jk getting a cut off the dogs they sold? would they be who they were without the recognition of the journal? what happened after the owners of the mag were arrested? where were your idols? people talk this nonsense about jack and the mag being used to promote his friends. let me tell you that anyone with a hundred bucks could place an add in the journal and dogmen used the journal to promote themselves, not the other way around. shit, i see people on this board talking about how great some of these dogs that were fake show dogs or straight curs were. why is that? did jack promote them, or did they send in fake reports and take out adds? so no let me "stop" here, its not really my place to start naming names and such and really if people want to believe in some of these curs and fake champions let them.

the point was these dudes are putting out a "sporting dog journal" which is an established, copyrighted entity, and they are profiting off 30 plus years of someonelse's work. and believe me unlike most of the people on this board i know how much work goes into putting out a 130 page magazine, and when your dealing with a lot of the retards, and illiterate morons that call themselves dogmen im sure its no picknick. why don't you pick up the phone and call jk and talk to him about it, im sure he can tell you some stories.

you guys can suscribe to that thing and maybe it will actually last a year or two unlike all the mags that people have started up. maybe it will fold and you'll lose out like all the suckers that suscribed to california jackoffs mag. the point is it is a rip off of the sdj, and what they are doing is a violation of the copyright laws of the united states.
