Limp Tail or Cold-Tail: anyone ever heard of it?

Discussion in 'Health & Nutrition' started by Sativa&Indica, Aug 9, 2010.

  1. After being at the lake all day our Male APBT was whinning and licking at his tail. We thought he got bit by something, but after reading whatever I could find on it, I read about something called "Cold-tail" or "Limp tail"...It said that they get it from swimming, like it seperates their muscles and kinda bruises it. It took a couple days or it to heal but I was wondering if anyone else had ever really heard of this?

Any idea what can cause Limp tail? Or if it could of been something else?
I would love to hear other peoples experiences.

  2. My dog got "dead tail" after a dock diving competition I called her homeopath and we gave her a remedey. It was back to normal within an hour. Its pretty common with swimmers and dock diving. I will try to remember the remedy for you. It does go away on its own without anything but takes a little longer.

  3. Hello, I was wondering what the remedy was if you would be able to provide some further info as our pup/Hunter is in a lot of pain. I dont really like to give him Aspirin or any of the other meds they are trying to give him but we are onto night 2 with him not being able to get comfortable or able to lay down. Please help :(

This happens to my brothers dog after swimming. Always goes back to normal within an hour or so and never seemed to bother her.
