To me a game plug isn't even of match quality. And it wouldn't even get loser next to it's name as it's ability is so low a person wouldn't dare show it, as it's alway's on the bottom. But it's a dog that'll keep scratching as long as it's able to crawl.

I know of a well bred bitch that was the worse performing bitch I've seen period (no ability or mouth) but 100% game. Her owner bred her twice and was very selective in what he bred her to and got show winners out of both her litters. I'm sure if this bitch was owned by someone else and bred without the thought or care of this lad, like most litters are then she wouldn't have produced any good dog's. What this bitch and her owner have shown me is you can get better but only if you breed selectivly.

Her owner alway's breeds for performance and when I pull him up about her, he tells me when breeding any litter you have to look at both the parent's, but the one thing any dog needs is gameness and an owner being able to recognise it. True gameness is the foundation you did can build upon, as without it you have nothing, but only if you are selective enough in the quality of dog you choose to breed to.

i would have room for a game plug in my program, game is the basis of these dogs. If you take a high performing dog to a gameplug you might get a great litter. Sometimes you never know how much heart a great performer has bc they are always on top. Breeding 2 great performers who have never been in deep water might back fire, not that i would hesistate to do it:D

Pre 76 of course but i would take anyone's game plug and turn it into a really good match dog. Some need schooled alot more then others and some just need schooled the right way.

A dog "that'll keep scratching as long as it's able to crawl" is an exceptional animal and proven animal. The performance doesn't necessarily have to be a winning one... the ones who will scratch like that are rare. Your friend had it right-selective breeding is the key. That's why I hate when people say that producing and performing are unrelated...because they are not. Selection is the key. And I would bet that bitch had a higher likelyhood of producing than somebody's untested petbull regardless of how she was bred.

honey was one of those females that needed to be in the right hands with someone patient enough too wait on her offspring, i rem at one time nobody wanted her and she could have been picked up free , all that changed when galtee knls made some breedings with her.
