Did the dog get hit.. i imagine not as i think you woulda said so.. I say that might be the best case for you.. there dumb ass dog comes at you another runs in the road and gets hit. Actually these type people will not ever learn and those dogs will be loose forever!!!! An in your case i would get a weeks worth of video so they cant say it is a one time thing and then do the same one week for a few months. And try and figure a way to prove the dates of the video?

 

why dont you just avoid the house all together .... you are movig Friday arnt you? Why even bother with it. just avoid it and your out of there Friday never will see them again

would do nothing but get you into trouble- as you are still required to be in control of your dog. doesnt matter if the other dog is off leash, and yours is on- you still have to control your dog. a dog being on leash does not give it a free pass.

this is not true... if my dog is leashed and a random unleashed dog runs up to mine , and they fight , its the unleashed owners fualt. happened to me twice already one bystandered called the cops the last time. i mean i wouldnt go walking my leashed dog on someones property hoping for a fight. i have gotten to the point now i just dont care... to many ignorant people leaving the dogs unleashed. it happens it happens,,

 

in most every area of the US with any sort of "leash law", it clearly and explicitly states that you must control you dog at all times.

Our neighbors down the road kept letting their lab run free, and it kept trying to get at my huskie when she was in heat, so I called animal control and they told me they were about to close and werent going to pick up the dog, and then i called the sherrifs dept and told em to pick up the dog and they said no, so I told them i was going to shoot it with .22 rat shot every time I saw it in my yard. They tried to yell at me and I went ahead and did it, didnt get in trouble for shit though.

 

EXatcly WTF are you suppose to do???? dont make any sense... then if my dog attacks it what it my fault? Buut if i put a muzzle on her and a dog attacks her then WTF ... she has to defend herself

 

Just the laws.. i just spent about a hour looking into this and in my state there in no state wide leash law. Some towns require a leash but not all and not many. Its kinda funny as when my first dog was a small pup i used to let her run around a local ball field and a local cop stopped to tell me she had to be on a leash that it was the law!

What the fuck is what i have to say, how can there be no leash law, and how can it be my fault if a strange dog runs up in my dogs face and my dogs woops its ass. I get it though it is the law and i am not gonna get me or my dogs in any trouble as the law is never on any of side. It seems to me laws protect the guilty but when a law abiding citizen needs em good luck getting em enforced!!!

 

aee where i live ther is a leash law... ALL dogs must be ;leashed in public... they wil give you a ticket on the spot... or at least suppose to give ya a ticket.

 

Yeah here too, good luck finding a pet owner that knows there is a law or finding someone to enforce it.

 

the law would be the least of my worries- even if they dont enforce in your area, the bigger worry would be a sue happy ~victim~ ...their dog "only wanted to say Hi! , and "sure, he plays rought, but thats just how he likes to make friends" and the classic- "why would anyone want a dog that cant get along w/ other dogs?"

 

Yup and this is why my little Flip video recorder started coming with me on walks today, i even had to use it already. I figure it is my only defense in the case something does happen? Fuck em i say fuck em they got us by the balls whatever way you spin it.

being i am moving to about ten acres i wish i could figure a way to never leave my property again with my dogs. it aint gonna happen though as i hand walk two of my dogs 6-10 miles a day at this point. One refuses to go on a mill and that is the one that i like to get keep in shape as she take very well to it. Fuck Fuck Fuck i cant stand furr loving owners owners that think all dogs are made the same and who would want a dog that cant get along with other dogs. Boring Boring Boring imop!!!

 

you know i was down in the french quarter with my dogs and this lady had a art exhibit. i was looking in the window and she said i could bring the dogs in. She told me ya know if you get em fixed they wont be as active. i told her i like my dogs active thank you mam. if i wanted a couch a lazy furry thing i would have gotten a big stuffed bear. crazy lady... not everyone likes a lazy ass dog.

 

Shit like this is the exact reason I walk my dogs at three in the morning. During the day, we treadmill, flirtpole, spring pole, etc... in the yard and night time we walk. The dogs can always go much further as well as it's cooler.

 

your light reading says "if the dog is deemed dangerous" a dog is only deemed dangerous either A. because of an incident that has previously occurred
or B if the have dangerous dog laws or local bsl... most areas of the us does not have this...

therefore if your dog that as not been deemed dangerous through previous actions(or a local bsl statute) is atacked by an off leash dog the owner of the off leash dog would be liable.

 

This is the case in my area, although I'm not in the US. We'd all do well to avoid such situations though as even if you aren't held liable, doesn't mean the press won't get ahold of the story and smear the breed once again bringing the whole BSL concept to discussion. It's happend NUMEROUS times in my area. :rolleyes: The person gets ''off'' but the breed doesn't. :mad:
