There area alot of different variations of maverick and the one I am looking for isnt in my back yard trust me I have talked to the guy that had the dogs I am looking for and he didnt sell anyone to up this way.

 

Didn't say all that but there are plenty in that part of your state just got off the phone with a guy with Reno bred bulldogs and crosses alone with those other variations of Maverick my man was talking bout alittle of this and that kind of thing he an't that hard to find he tells me :confused: but anyway if u know where its at thats cool just trying to help..............

This guy goes by the name of KP who lives in Alexandria sold me a culled pup when she was 4 months old. She is scared of everything and everybody and KP reassured me that she would "grow" out of it (1st lie) and he would buy her back if she didn't work out (2nd lie). Well, she isn't working out. I never touched that dog in one harmful way. All I ever done was feed her, wormed her, bath her, and walked her when I had time. So I takes this cull back and asked if he give me a refund. He started saying I fought the dog and I did this and that to the dog. The dog have never had a fight. She is just a cull that he made $550.00 off me instead just being honest. This guy KP is a piece of shit!! Every dog on his yard is poor and dirty. Someone really needs to shut him down.

I don't run that stuff period and I come across those animals bred tight and supposedly right all the time. Shouldn't be hard man.

 

The dog I am speaking of I am sure you didnt run across there are a ton of boudreaux dogs but the exceptional ones were just sold to any average joe so I woould bet my money the dogs that I am refering to arent the ones you came across. I have found very tight bred maverick dog that are 25min away from my house but those dogs arent the maverick dogs that I am looking for .

 

dbrown, I take it your looking for Ducote dogs coming down from Reno right? Now, I assume you have spoke to this gentlemen based on your post and if I'm wrong then I apologize in advance. Now, if you said this person didn't sale to any ole tom dick and harry with money, then why should you expect someone to just sale you the same blood. There is some of that stuff in FLA that they are letting go, but good luck getting a pup from them under your current handle.

Well Gringo, I swear I'm going to convince you to let me come down that way and meet some of these people with these bad ass dogs...lol Already started to back in the states. I really like the way that dog is bred.

 

My bad I always seem to have that type o for some odd reason thanks for the info though at least I know where to start looking and whats wrong with my handle just my name since I didnt coome up with some cool andticdote then noone is going to sell me a dog lmao. Maybe I will think of something else an the 23 I just always stick on the end thats my handle for all forums I am on less confusing getting old you know going on 32 next month.

 

And your right what would make someone give me some of the blood I am looking for, I guess that is going to be my little secrect.

 

Kissing lots of ass and flashing a bunch of Ben Franklin's around can do wonders to get you the dog you want LOL.

I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but sometimes pups who are older & haven't been handled by anyone but their breeder ARE going to be shy. I've gotten a few like this from other people & I will even admit I have had a couple of older pups come out that way from my own yard. Mine were great with me, but didn't have anything for other people. It was just a product of their upbringing, they just weren't exposed to a whole lot of people, which in these dogs of increasing dog theft & dog busts closed yards are becoming more common.

However, in my particular case in both the dogs I got from others & the ones that came from me the shyness issue always resolved when I or the new owner spent quality time with them. Your female may have bonded more strongly or more quickly to you if perhaps did more to her than vet her, groom her & walk her "when you had time." IDK.

Furthermore, it should have been quite evident that the gyp was shy from the get-go & if you didn't want a dog you had to bond to IMO you should have just eased on to another breeder, doubly so if his dogs were "poor & dirty" as you say. That right there on it's own would have sent me out the door.

Now I do agree if he made a commitment to you to take her back, he should have, but I just went to his site & it says right on the link you provided & the one of the first things it says on his site is "Life has no guarantees & these dogs don't either!" So it is quite obvious he is not guaranteeing his stock - which he rightly shouldn't. No one can tell how a pup will turn out & even a dog that has proven itself can be ruined in the wrong hands.

Lastly, I must ask - how do you know this pup is a cull? Just b/c she is has not bonded to you not mean she is a cull. From what I understand GR.CH. Pool Hall Red was considered shy & a one person dog, yet she was one of the best female pit dogs of her time.

But to get back to the OP, there are many Boudreaux bred dogs in your area dbrown. Just be patient, keep looking & you will find what you are looking for!
