cur??

first of all what does cur mean, also this guy brought his pit down here to show me which is full grown, so i brought my girl out, he said the dog was cool, both were on chains then he says sikk em, and his dog goes crazy my pup got beside my leg and raised hell, does this mean she is a cur?

 

i'd watch what strangers you bring to your house to show off your dog and how it acts when faced....don't trust anyone! If you are asking what cur means it shouldnt matter if your dog is or isnt raise it right and it will be a good dog for ya all the same.

Basically, a cur is a dog that doesn't deserve to be bred. Like an APBT that isn't game, is a mutt, has a bad temparment, etc...And yes, be careful what people you let around. There's only one real way to find out if your dog is a cur, but it's illegal now.

 

NO...it means she's a pup and deserves better than what that A-hole did.

 

Your pup isnt a cur just because it reacted the way it did.Like the other members said and I agree you need to be careful when showing your pup off to people,not worried but careful{unless you feel for a reason to be worried.}Hope we all helped

 

I belive that cur a dog fght term. Most dog fghtr's use this turm if a dog will not fght Who ever said skk em is not somebody you what around you or your dog if your true to dog.

this is not exclusively a fighting term. Cur applies to any dog which is not game bred. i.e. black mouth cur.

"This guy" sounds like an asshole and a moron. He is probably the one with the cur, if he has to show off his dog by intimidating pups. Some people will tell you a 4-week-old pup is a cur if it whines when you pick it up by the skin of the neck:rolleyes: .
