I got a grey wolf that is coming up in the yard every night around 3am and making the dogs go nuts. Get this the wolf comes right up in the back yard and walks threw the chain spaces just out of reach of the dogs. He seems fearless which worries me. I have spot lights in my yard and he still comes up. He is always alone which also has me on edge. Tried to shoot him but he is right amongst the dogs and the fact is i couldn't shoot the barn if I was standing 20 feet in front of it. Also tried to trap him but he is to smart. Put poison in a chicken and he wont touch it. He has had every chance to grab one of my younger dogs but hasn't messed with them, I don't know what he wants or what to do to get rid of him. Any sugestions would be great.

maybe he's lookin for a date lol ...single wolf male seeking strong minded, tough as nails girl for endless romps and... lol... those wolf hybreds are quite popular u know lol...

What about calling a professional trapper or even the DNR?? Dont know what their status is in TX ..but unless it is killing your dogs /livestock.. Id call the DNR...

I called the game warden they are the ones that brought the trap out. Never caught him. They told me I couldn't do anything unless he killed one of the dogs. Well, I'll be damned I would like to get him first. That is another concern though that bastard better stay away from my bitches lol...

He was back early last night. The game warden told me that wolves were rare around here and he may be the last one left in this area and just coming around the dogs so he feels more like he is in a pack. Little does he know if he gets to close to his new found friends he is a gonner lol.. Will have to try the shot gun my dad told me if I couldn't hit him with a shot gun I was a complete dumb ass. He really isn't showing any agression towards the dogs though even though they are not to welcoming to him.

Wolfs....*shudder* I know there are no known wolf attacks to people but they creep me the hell out. Take one of your bulldogs and put that wolf in its place...

The best thing to do is call a game trapper that specializes in wolves, big cats, bears..etc... If the county you live in really belives that wolf is one of the last in that area they should want to relocate him or introduce him into a pack at another location. sounds like they really dont care...if you were to kill the wolf they would probley fine the hell out of you..which figures being that they wont help you get rid of the wolf. its a tuff situation to deal with. I would be careful..really careful if you have any bitches in heat or any young puppies.

Sorry guys but.....WE are in his space!!!! Think about it. Last wolf in the area????Makes me sad. Why don't you put up a perimiter fence and keep him out, don't poison him or shoot him....we are the nuisance animal with our overbreeding and invading of territory.Trap him and relocate or do your best to scare him off.Shoot the last of a dying breed?Think about the irony of it.

    Sorry,just my worthless 2 cents.

I agree. I'm sure it's been done numerous times. Someone can rescue and relocate this animal.

i wouldnt sic a bulldog on a wolf..you have no idea what parasites, diseases, etc that wolf is carrying .. ... besides the other obvious reasons..

Old t rick my grandpa use to use with unwanted critters... a little rock salt ;) pepper the wolf with a shot of that..wont kill him, just give him a sting... worked on us grandkids lol ;)

Dont Kill Him Why Wont Game And Fish Relocate Him? Find Someone To Relocate Him To Were There Is His Own Kind. Respect Mother Nature They Were Here Frist We Are The Ones Makeing It So These Animals Have No Place To Live Humans Are Over Populated.

If you can't trap him, try to use a dart gun and just knock him out for awhile.
