What is the pros an cons on the different mills that are being used ?
What do you use Jenny, Slat, Carpet, or Electric an why do you use that type of mill ?

Jenny and slat are pretty much used to build endurance and lean muscle.
Carpet is used to build strength and/or bulk muscle but doesn't do much for endurance.
E-mill can do both, but you gotta know what your doing or you can really hurt your dog.

carpet mill for strength training, the others are for endurance. emill can be found much cheaper but can be dangerous if not used correctly.

Use an e-mill just like you would use a free turning slat mill. You just have to really know how to read the dog to know your not over working him.

main thing is keep a close eye on the dog and dont overwork them. they cant slow down when they are tired so its easy to get injured or overworked. make sure the dog is safelt attached and i would add sides as another safety precaution

what is the quietest, affordable slat mill to use?

None are very affordable, but you can usually find a slightly used one for a good price. I would say the Gambler mill is the best. I've had 2 Red River Curly's and they aren't the most quiet but they got the job done.

I don't use a e-mill like most people and I feel that the meathod I was taught works best for the type of dogs I have. I prefer a moderate turning mill for strength and endurance training at the same time. The quietest I would say.... Is a gambler or Red River Curly mill. JMO

I`ve just had a trackmill built and can`t wait to use it. I have a Dogtrotter slat mill and a Jog A Dog e mill. The trackmill will give a more natural workout but I do love the Dogtrotter and it is a lot more convenient to use and takes up very little space.

why are so many people thinking you can hurt a dog on the mill . if you did a prekeep then the dog should be fine . the people that know what they're doing will start at 5 mimutes then build up to 2+ hours at the end . some of the best dogs did it . why can't yours . not being a smart ass , just wondering . i always watch them work it or be close enough to hear it .
