Fresh cold water

It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day events of our lives with work, family, TV, sports and what not. I know most people with dogs do not think about how much it means to a dog to get a cold drink of water. Some people change the water on a daily basis which is grate and my hats off to you all that do so. Some don't change there water until the water is green and down to the last few inches. I do my best to make sure there is clean water each day and change out all the water every other day at the least. It is a very good feeling to care for these fine animals. Please don't be one of the slackers that don't take care of business.

 

All my dogs on chains I change there water three times a day the youngens in the kennels have a custom automatic dog waterer so they have fresh drinking water 24/7.

 

Same for me, 3x daily

 

we change ours out every day..... not only will stagnant water build up mold but it also turns into a nesting ground for mosquito larvae.

 

my outside dogs water bucket is kept in a the coolest place where no sun ever hits and is scrubed once a week but they get fresh water daily, inside dogs get about 10 bowls a day lol, it not a real big bowl

 

We Clean Ours With A Toliet Brush 1 Time A Day And Put Fresh Water Out 3 Times A Day........

 

I change my water every other day! I put in a cap of bleach each time to prevent the slime build up! I also scrub the buckets with bleach and a brush.
I keep the water clean but lets not foreget they are dogs. When out on their own they drink some nasty crap anyway. Like my kids! They going to get into stuff from time to time. The immune system needs to build up a wall to some things and I will not wipe their noses every time they sniffle! But yes! I agree with clean water. If I were home all day I would do it everyday but adding the bleach gives you a few days. I had a max of 5 days clear water when using the bleach but like I said I still change it every other day so it is fresh.

 

Mine get fresh water once daily, every morning around 6. Then are checked on throughout the day. Great thread H.O.C.

 

With my dogs, more than 5, voca puts her face in it and makes bubbles, nike steps in it, benz MUST have ice water (the bum)

Its crazy, they drive me crazy!

 

I change the water at least 4-5 times a day, depending on how much she drinks.

at the same time, I would like everyone to take a minute and think of those that might loose power for weeks due to Hurricane Kanitra and send a prayer for them and the task it will be to find water.

 

My pups are house dogs but on hot days when they are outside alot they get a giant bowl of water with ice in it. THey are so spoiled!

 

You are so right fifty, we all need to pray for the victims of the hurricane. It is good to see the post of responsable dog owners, I have seen many a dog man that did not care as much as the posters on this thread.

 

it is another thing when you have 30 dogs, you can't change 30 5 gallon buckets 4 or 5 times a day. we do it every other day.

 

make sure to change it 2x a day.

 

I understand that, I think every other day is good, I started this thread for those that go weeks before changing water.
