eating grass?

ol' friend of mine reckons my pups had a better coat cos they were tied out on grass.

Whats the score with dogs eating grass?

 

Mine do it once in a while. I fid a complete turd with folded wadded up blades, nothing but grass couple times a week when I clean yard.

 

Its a dog thing they all do it. lol

 

jmo the dogs i have owned or been around seemed to eat grass when they have stomach upsets bc they all throw up shortly afterwords . worms maybe? also outdoor reared dogs tend to have fuller better coats naturally .

 

neh they throw up because they eat too much grass at that time, most of the dogs eat grass it's a dog thing just don't let them eat to much and there are no problems.

they eat grass like jacko said because their stomach is up set . this makes them throw up so they feel better .

 

Some dogs do it when they have an upset stomach some do it because of a lack of nutrition and some do it simply out of boredom that should sum it up i think it is called something like Pica or something not sure but it is normal and not a big deal as everyone else has said hell its a dog thing why do they sniff asses? why do they eat there own shit? LOL just dog things

My dogs eat grass when they're overheating sometimes.

I don't think dogs are born with some mystical knowledge to eat grass when they have a stomach ache. My dogs eat grass all the time. Comes out the other end looking the same as it went in too.

 

They also eat it when they are thirsty because of the moisture in the grass.

 

i wouldnt be at all suprised if they do it because they require something the grass has in it. animals seem to be more in sync with what their bodies require than us. like elephants have been known to go into caves to find deposits of minerals they are lacking. Humans on the other hand -apparently something like a 3rd of us cant tell the difference between hunger and thirst lol. Have heard all sorts of reasons though generally just theories from thirst to cleaning their teeth lol.

After 18 years with these dogs i came to the conclusion that grass is not bad for them.
They only throw up if they eat to much of it, wich some wil do.
My dogs been eating grass their entires lives in a normal way and i always assumed it is their way of cleaning the gutts since they do not digest is that good, several times my dogs taken dumps with long pieces of grass sticking out of their arses.

 

I've noticed that my dogs don't eat grass unless its hot outside. They eat the hell out of trees all the time! lol

 

been wondering about this topic recntly.. lastnight had 2 dogs eat lots of grass just to throw up green foam with grass blades sticking out! looked like bubble tea.. LOL
